also to note that i am a beginner and i don't know abc of playing any musical instrument :ashamed:

A guy here told me that yamaha guitar's are not for amateur's and i would spoil it in my use,so better get a cheaper one & practice playing it !

is it so?

^ Yea, now I too have the same question. What guitar for absolute beginners?

Also, is it possible to learn from video tutorials available on net? :ashamed: No time to join a class etc. :P

^ Am pretty sure thats Givson or Grason :P , Gibson acoustics will be priced atleast 10 times more :)
As for a beginner , get a cheap guitar ( givson or pluto ) now and invest in a better guitar ( yamaha or Cort ) for later .

Yeah you can learn from online lessons , but not the basics . 1st you have to make your hand steady and all , so a tutor is recommended .
Good luck :)

I always recommend spending a little more and getting a decent acoustic instead of the crap that Givson (not Gibson) and other companies sell in the range of 2-3k. 5k seems like a good budget. Yamahas are great although I don't know how they're priced in India.

However, if you do plan to buy a Givson or something similar, do take someone along to check the action and intonation.

Been playing for 8 years now man, buy a yamaha and be done with it. Cause its very hard to sell your first guitar and then there are too many lieing around. Yamah, once and for all, and its not anyhting major, 6k or so for a basic model.

Please dont buy a guitar online... I believe you have to physically try it out before buying a guitar...

yeah .....chances of it getting spoiled in the way ?
Well that and that fact that every guitar has its own characteristics like sound, look and feel... You cant judge that by looking at a pic on ebay...

IMHO for things like guitar, shoes, clothes one has to actually see and touch the product before buying it...
