User Guides An Introduction To Viruses, Worms And Trojans

VIRUS
  • A virus is a small piece of software that piggybacks on real programs.
  • Infect other programs by modifying them.
  • For example, a virus might attach itself to a program such as a spreadsheet program. Each time the spreadsheet program runs, the virus runs, too, and it has the chance to reproduce (by attaching to other programs) or wreak havoc.
  • Computer viruses are called viruses because they share some of the traits of biological viruses.
  • First one written in 1983 by USC student Fred Cohen to demonstrate the concept.

gr8 job man !! also hav a question..which is the best antivirus, best firewall available at this moment ?

The Best Anti-Virus, depends upon personal perspective and personal experience.

Though, i recommend AVG anti-virus from Grisoft(Free version is also available). Thats what i personally use.

Besides, the resources used by it are also lesser than one of the most popular Anti-Virus softwares(Norton).

Apart from a good, updated anti-virus, its better if you also install a firewall and have some malware removal programs like AdawareSE and SpyBot Search and Destroy.

You can read my article related to this Here (Malware).
And thanks for appreciating my work.:)
