Google has dropped a new delicious surprise while announcing the name of its next version of Android. Till now it was expected that after Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, the next version will be Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, but yesterday Google has announced that next version will be Android 4.4 KitKat.

Yes, it will share the name Nestle KitKat chocolate, a decision which is expected to help both brands in marketing, reports BBC. Google came up with the idea to do something "fun and unexpected" and it doesn't involve cash between the parties.

When Google reached out to Nestle's advertising agency in November for the tie-up, the deal was confirmed within 24 hours.

"Very frankly, we decided within an hour to say let's do it," Patrice Bula, Nestle's marketing chief told the BBC.

Soon you will see Android branded packaging of Nestle Kitkat in stores which was in production secretly till now. Over 50 million chocolates featuring the Android mascot will be sold in 19 markets, including the UK, US, Brazil, India, Japan and Russia.

Read somewhere that Nestle agreed to the arrangement without any money exchanging hands!
This must be like manna from heaven for Nestle. They couldn't have asked for a better brand booster than this. Especially after three successive Jelly Bean iterations of Android.
The names comes as a breath of fresh air and is immensely catchy.[DOUBLEPOST=1378374985][/DOUBLEPOST]
Where did you read that 5.0 would be better for low ram devices ?

If anything its not sure that low ram devices will work all that well with 5.0. 1GB is low here.

Actually, links saying that are plenty but no one knows the veracity of the same.

Some things from that Kitkat page, since it is software/OS we are talking about.

On one slide it says, no contracts, but aren't contracts meant for hardware and not software ?
How is edge to edge display related to software?
