If your budget is strictly inside 15k, check these phones

1) Samsung Galaxy Spica (android): 13k-14k Though it's android phone, I do not feel comfortable recommending this phone due to bad Samsung support and low RAM. But worth the price

2) Nokia 5800XM (Symbian): 12.5k-13k. very good music quality. nice touch screen, decent number of apps.

3) SE Yari: 12.5k-13k. Just for fun and this one has top notch music quality. And gaming on this is pure fun. Not to forget 5mp camera.

GO to any mobile store, try out these phones and other phones that you find in your budget and get one that you are most comfortable with.

Go for Samsung Galaxy SPICA i5700.

-Capacitive touch

-800mhz proccy

-128MB RAM (a downer :()

-3.2MPX Camera

-3.2" Screen

-First ANDRIOD phone to support xvid/dvix files natively

-12-13k price

Go for it. Definately a VFM phone.

HMMM But Spica is 1.5 android?

will i get an official samsung upgrade ?

and the 128 mb ram, does it really affect performance if i listen to music and try to browse the net or so?

galaxy 13k-14k

dont expect any firmware updates from samsung.they suck in that department.Haven't released a single firmware update for india for my i8910 that's only area in which they suck.

for the upteenth time , guys ... spica has moved to 2.1 eclair and galaxy is bumped upto 1.6

and no the ram does not hamper your browsing or music ...

Samsung i5700 Galaxy -> 16 ~ 17 K

Samsung Spica -> 12.5 ~ 13 K

Samsung has made things a lil confusing...

Samsung Galaxy is I7500 which is for about 16-17k

Samsung Galaxy Spica (Lite) is I5700 which is for abt 13k

I have been using the I5700 for a few days now and its been absolutely brilliant...I dont think the 128mb ram is proving to be a problem

Can anyone confirm that the sPICA NOW COMES WITH 2.1 OS?

Called Customer care and got this response:

Android 2.1 update is being rolled out for i5700 but not in India right now. There is no tentative date but will be rolled out in near future. for more info, can check with samsung service centre.
