Graphic Cards another palit woe...

Hi guys,

Bought a Palit 4870 Sonic 1GB from Cassette World on saturday... after reaching home found that there was no 6pin-4pin molex adapter included... so went back yesterday and got one.... got back home.. got my system setup... pressed the power button and voila.... fuzzy graphics... bars and dots and distortion everywhere.... :@

tried switching from normal to turbo... tried on my mates PC... tried a different PSU... and its still the same....

I am going back to the shop today... will this be replaced immediately or shall I have to wait like how the normal RMA takes place... ??

and in case if the shop advises me for a RMA should I take it up with Palit service center directly.... ???

I'll be leaving in half an hour... will update once I get back....
 
nope. insist on immediate replacement.

u wont have to ask for it though.

most dealers at lammy generally give immediate replacement if product is returned widin 2days.

to be on safer side...just dont ask whether u shud be getting immediate replacement or not...just tell him(nadeem i thnk) that "boss, ye card kal leke gaya tha..its not workin...tried on different machines..." say no more..bt carry along the bill.

say that when u r around other customers n he will be generous beyond ur expectations :P

Just go to the shop keeper and say that u took the card yesterday and its not wrkin..He'll replace it...
Don't accept RMA et all...
 
Got my card replaced... no questions asked... hoorayy.... :clap:
installing the catalyst drivers atm...

will post back soon with the findings...

I am using a Corsair VX450...
 
feels great after moving from 8600GT... getting 100-120 fps with all settings maxed out on COD 4... earlier was getting 20-25...

time to feel the difference in crysis.... :D
 
many people here posting that the guys at the shop are bad... however i found them to be very helpful.. especially Nadeem... who just took the card and sent it for replacement... 20 mins later I was holding a new one in my hand... would anyone like to share their experiences regarding the service at the store... ???
 
I had a terrible experience with them, like 7 years back. Had bought SDRAM from them, which went bad and they refused to take it back.

Even general items, they tend to overprice, sell second hand stuff at the price of new etc... Stopped visiting their shop years back..
 
Whats the warranty period for palit gpu's ?

coz mine didnot have any info abt warranty on the box nor a warranty card was present.
 
funny story. One of my friends had to endure weeks of RMA hell due to a 4850.

Another friend bought the exact same model , and as expected, it was DOA. I was trying hard to supress a "toldja So" grin :P

but he RMA'd it and got a brand new GDDR5 card :O

I'm not laughing now :ashamed:

so i guess palit aint so bad after all !
