PC Peripherals Another PC Advise Thread...

Hey guys,

My sis is looking for a comp as she needs it in her hostel for her MBA... The comp will be just used for making reports and stuff... No programming, No movie watching, No Gaming, Nothing of that sort...

Make a cheap PC config... Waise i have few vintage parts with me... Like a PII 300 Slot chip, 128 MB SD Ram, AMD K6 chip, Casing + PSU, 14" Moniter and Keyboard and mouse... I know that this rig will be back with me in 6 months time and i will have nothing to do on it as i already have two rigs which are good enough for me...

What should i go in for... A new PII/K6 Mobo or Sempron + Mobo + DDR Ram or Celery + Mobo + Ram or Winne 754 + Mobo + Ram...

What will be approximate budget... If somebody on TE is selling any of the stuff which i may be interested in plz dont hesitate to post along with expected prices and warrenty left on the stuff...

P.S. I already own an Amd 939 rig and a AMD XP rig...

WELL its pur advertising but u cud buy my 733 mhz p3 and 815 board, so for 1.8k and rest is upto u,

815 board will allow u to use any graphic card see for tnt 3d card might get a 64 mb for 300 rupees or 400 , even cud combine with second hand fx5200 for about 1.3k.

Well, p3 is quite weak.
Atleast get a 1.6 Ghz p4 or sumthing.
The whole config. would coz u like 15k. Or is that too much?

LOL Intel is a waste rt now. Switch Get a Sempron a P2 would be too slow to handle Win XP + Office XP. It will be frustrating trust me. Whatever the case be buy 512mb RAM minimum, it will be blessing if she wants to opens websites + word + excel documents etc...

its atx and its from my uncles dell pc,no onboard video is thr, 3 ram slots, 2 ps2 slots, 2usb ,no onboard video(but will provide u 4mb video card to sweeten the deal), ac97 onboard audio, 1 agp slot, 5 pci slots and and dunno about he company though but has original intel 815 chipset and on the northbridge heatsink smthin like acorp

is written , so dunno the manufacturer of the board??????
