how abt powersafe 450w? will it do for him if he hasn't got any upgrades in the pipeline?
Where do you get Powersafe anymore?
I don't think the current VIP PSUs are Powersafe.
I think OP's best bet for this rig is the Seasonic 380W @ Rs. 3000/-.

Seasonic makes power supplies for Corsair. Corsair rebrands them and sells them as Corsair PSUs. :P

400CX = Seasonic

450HX = Seasonic

450VX = Seasonic

520HX = Seasonic

620HX = Seasonic

650TX = Seasonic

PS: Forget the HX450 & the HX520. You get neither of them here. :P

Get your facts right Gannu. :|

You may check some older TE threads for the same. :)

I hope you know what is meant by the term "rebranding". :)

Corsair is not into rebranding psus i think.

And not all Corsairs are Seasonic.

Except a initial few models at the time of launch, the rest are all made by CWT, for Corsair, as per Corsair's design, iof i am not mistaken. :)

So maybe you need to recheck a few on that list of Corsair psus you posted assuming 'Made by Seasonic'. :)

Maybe some TE guru/senior can shed more light on this. :)

all tx & hx1000 is cwt gannu

I plan on only upgrading to a new Processor nothing else in near future. Tagan 500 w and Corsair 400 w looks good in price , but is it 80 + certified?

Anyone Tagan or Corsair?

Corsair is 80+ certified where as the Sea sonic is 80+ Bronze certified. For your rig and budget, the S12II 380 seems ideal. :)

Straight from horse's mouth:

The manufacturer breaks down like this:

VX450 - Seasonic

VX550 - CWT

HX520 - Seasonic

HX620 - Seasonic

TX650 - Seasonic

TX750 - CWT

Bikey, you seem to assume a lot dont you!

^Yeah few components being changed and the cables notably! But I guess the basic design's probably taken from Seasonic & CWT.

NO

I was trying to point out that there is no way you can say x psu is by y OEM.

^So wont that contradict Redbeard's statement?

Isn't that exactly what I'm trying to tell you?

Also, I'd rather believe official Corsair Tech Support rather than a Corsair Rep :P

Tell your dad honestly , it's a one time investment and it will keep your system stable. I ask you to wait even if you have to but just go in for the Corsair. It won't let you down! PSU is an essential component and you cannot compromise on the brand mate! Still if nothing , then go in for the Cooler Master 400W/450W one..
