After searching around for a while for a software to manage my movie collection, i fell upon Ant Movie Catalog. It is completely free (free as in speech :bleh: ), open source ,very easy to use, feature rich, and has plenty of addon scripts! And the interface though not very flashy, is very simple and functional.

Adding movies is really easy ( you can enter it manually, or search for the details for a huge list of websites like IMDB, DVD EMPIRE, etc), you can have multiple databases, search for movies based on lots of criteria, import or export the database in many formats. After fooling around with around 3-4 movie managers, i found this to be the best! :hap2:

Hope this helps those who are in search for a good movie manager.

ps : there is also a linux port MovieFly

Does it already contain the database of old movies..or its empty..

If empty is there anyother software which already has database of movies..amd its information..!!

Well its obviously empty. If you need a database, you can use IMDB. And well the software has scripts with which you can retrieve the movie information, with just the movie name (this includes artist info, rating, comments, plot, etc). So all you have to do is type the movie name, and use the script to get all the info related to the movie

Its a pretty old find, I know about it for about 2 yrs. now. Possibly been discussed before but still a good one :)

I particularly liked the script editor and the graph. the present movie manager i use dosen't have this feature.

repped ya!!
