I have a PC with the following config.

Intel C2D 4500 2.2GHz
Abit IP 35 E
2GB Transcend DDR2 800MHz(1GBx2)
160GB SEAGATE SATA HDD
Galaxy 8600GT 256MB DDR3
SONY 820A DVD Writter
SAMSUNG DVD Drive
D-LINK Internal Modem
ATP 3 2:1 Speakers
SAMSUNG SYNC 793s 17" CRT Monitor
400 watts Antec SP PSU(12V R1=15a, 12V R2=14a)
SLK 3000B Cabinet
650VA APC UPS
Is the Antec 400w PSU enough for my Rig?
Is the corsair VX 450 better than the Antec SP 400?
VX 450 has singe 12V Rail,HX 620 has 3 12V Rails what is the performance difference in between single 12v rail and dual or trible 12V rails?

What about the CM 500W ?? ... thats a pretty decent PSU too ..

Sheesh, dont compare a lowly CM 500w psu with either, at least the vx450w.
The vx's far ahead in terms of efficiency.

As for ur query, the vx450's better than the antec sp400.
But the sp400 shud be fine for powering ur rig as it has minimal peripherals and the 8600gt.

In case u wish to go for a pwrful gfx upgrade, u'll need to change the psu.

Yepp... VX -450 is a master piece... Check out the review @ Hardware Forum.. Bloody awesome....

As for single rail & multi rail PSU.... It depends on the model & implementation of rails... If the rails are separate & no interconnect b/w them then there is the problem of overloading one rail while other has enough power to spare... but if multi rails are connected through interconnect then in the event of overload the power is shared.... This is available in most high end PSU's....

Otherwise a high Amps single rail PSU is the best bet if you don't know what system is implemented in your PSU.... (Reviews help here).....

HX620 has the interconnect so it can share power variably across all rails.... I guess this is the best design implementation... Other than that its certified SLI... not that VX-450 will not run SLI...
