I'm not sure if its the same keyboard I have. I've attached a pic of mine (without the hand-rest)

staying on topic......I have ANTS in my IBM keyboard .....do you know how to open it ? The PAGE UP key seems to be short circuited by the ANTS .......This is my Keyboard it is Model number 92G7453

I unscrewed the bottom of the keyboard but these is a metal plate underneath which seems to be welded - no screws or clips to be seen.

Spares for this keyboard in USA cost more than most regular keyboards over here :(

could you post a pic of that metal plate ........
i have a similar k/b of that vintage. it has a real pcb with a metal plate at the bottom. came with my "Tulip" branded 486 system decade ago.
and if possible post a pic of the actual key mechanism, remove any plastic key (on which the letters are printed)

if it is similar to mine i will send you the spare key /switch from my k/b. i do not use this k/b anymore. but i loved the "bouncy" feel of these keys plus it has a big inverted "L" shaped "ENTER" key.

Sheesh I just noticed my keyboard doesnt have that !!! I was always under the impression enter key was in L shaped.. I guess GUI changed it all..

no it is "inverted "L" shape. the base line going from right to left in the letter "L"
A very convinient and useful feature this for slow typist like me ......;)

Am using Logitech, and I have a diff kind of prob, somehow this keyoard attracts a lot of dust, I have a TVS keyboard just lying opposite, and after a week the Logitech keyboard is nearly black with dust...
Seems like Logitech is irressitible to dust as well as ants...

Ah well may i add something to that..
never ever clean your keyboard sheets with alcohol or anything that has alcohol or the lines that are on the sheet will be wiped off forever (and you will be left with something that only looks like a keyboard from outside).
Learned the hard way some years back with my logitech.

hmm not complaining too much as it costed me 250 bucks. I have a TVS Gold Keyboard which i bought 5 years ago lying idle. May use it soon if the keyboard is eaten up by ants
