Hello mates,

I had been given a job of making a video, that is to be shown in sangeet ceremony of my sis wedding.

Well, being a so called photographer, I do have a bit idea of making a video. But I am a real time noob in video editing.

Hence, looking for someone who has a good knowledge of video editing, so that he can guide me time to time while video editing and act as a live Help index :)

Ofcourse, there are tutorials which can help me learning, but I dont have that much time for completing job that I can spend time to download, watch and then practice by seeing the videos.

So, someone for quick point to point direction will be good.. Hence looking for volunteers to help me...

Thanxx in advance

What are you going to make a video of? Are you looking to make a video from old photos or old family clips or will you be shooting afresh? Maybe some more details would help, and someone might pitch in.

Will be making a fresh video....

As per the imagination, whole video will be divided into 3 scenes.

and further each scene is divided into various parts.

I need help at the editing end... Never dealt with the video editing software..

Moreover, I have some creative thoughts on few scenes. But I dont have hint how to bring that effect during editing (or post processing)

^ Why dont you try out a basic video editing software like ulead video studio. Once you get the hang of it its not that much difficult to grasp.Simple effects like fade-in, fade-out can be applied with ease with the software.I m not an expert with video editing.I had used that particular software some years back to just edit one or two videos just for timepass :P

Just download it and give it a try.See if the available effects are enough for you. :)

Thanxx a lot for the suggestion

I did tried some hand on Windows movie maker for timepass video..

However, apart from the general effects, I wish to implement effects like the subject is moving while the background (busy street) is still.... (given that I cant bear the cost of printing 8x15 feet banner of bg :P )

wow .. that calls for some professional setup. The ulta of what you want is pretty simple meaning the subject is steady and background keeps moving either at same pace or at fast pace (time lapse).

Anyways Best of Luck with your project.

well time lapse will also be done.. by that I wish to depict that the person is still but the bg things (cars etc) is moving very rapidly..

However, it the next scene I want to show that same man is walking very normally (not in a timelapse way) but the bg cars are still (the issue is I can make a setup like film maker where 20-30 cars are stopped at the most busy street of my city :P )

--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

somehow I found I need to work in Croma key for that.. I pissed in my pants hearing that shit :ashamed:

^ you can use two different captures to do that. first time use just the person standing still and alone in front of a white bg with light from front. just a minute of that will do so that you can roll it to the time you need. then do the busy street with cars etc. you can then put the person in front of the cars etc by putting that video on another layer and scaling it in height and width so that person is proportionate to other people on street (like you do in photoshop so that it (scaling) does not look badly done).

don't ask any more than this since i havent touched video editing in about 20 years. i was just learning it in adobe premiere and some software which i dont remember on an apple machine.

I'd recommend Pinnacle Studio and Adobe Premier, just RnD with Pinnacle for few weeks and you'll know basic usages even professional usages by some video tutorials or so. But need creativity and ideas to make most out of it :P

Thanxx 6pack for the direction.. will try a hand in it..

The small issue is that time is very limited and leaning curve is quite steep
