Bourne Identity is one of the best books ever! Bourne Supremacy is almost as bad as identity is good :P And Bourne Ultimatum has the dubious distinction of being the only novel which I had to give up halfway :no:
 
^Me too....i couldnt follow what was happening and go so confused.Then i started again at a snail's pace,finished 3/4th and then quit again.
 
i read "the alchemist" thouroughly coz there was such a brouhaha 'bout it, anyways after that i read "eleven minutes", still trying to figure out what point was paulo trying to put across, to me it was like reading erotica.

As far as Coelho is concerned I've just bought "Like the flowing river"

Will start reading as soon these slow exams are over.

Apart from identity, gandolfo and idaho, I find most his books quite boring :P No consistency at all, unlike say, archer - all of his books are awesome! :ohyeah:

4th estate was wonderful...
even kane&able/prodigal/president series
and all his short story collections like cat'o nine tails...mindblowing!

i jus read 2 of his books recently...pritty decent...

hmmm.....interesting to see that not many actually like much of coelho's work......i read just the alchemist and really loved it.....even if it may appear to be full of excessive romanticism to some.

Absolutely.. and what is worse, most of them are based on lazy editing. What irks me most is the way he makes silly mistakes. Childish statements on top of all that and fitting facts without actually minding the chronology/history.

Read "Hornet's flight" a few days ago. The very first page choked me.. Solid mystery build-up abt this guy walking in stiffly to see his pilot brother in the infirmary.. nurse immediately sees the resemblance..

A page later, this gem : Their father married a widow who already had a child i.e the younger brother..

So **ahem** htf did the nurse see any resemblance??

Lots of writers do this.. absolutely rubbish research.. especialyl authors who write abt India and Indians in their stories.. One Forsyth short story had a snake charmer from Gujarat called Chatterjee iirc and to top it all he is a muslim chappie praying to goddess kali.. gak!!!!!

A bit off topic but has anyone read Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. I was planning to buy the book, so wanted to know if it is worth reading.

Orr would be crazy to fly more missions and sane if he didn't , but if he was sane he had to fly them. If he flew them he was crazy and didn't have to; but if he didn't want to he was sane and had to.

Yeah... Not to forget why the harlot was hitting the chappie on the head with her stilettos :bleh: . Yes, Heller can be difficult to read but reading about Rembrandt was an eye-opener of sorts.. (Picture this)..

As for "why can't a Gujarati have a name called chatterjee?" .. please forgive me.. I must be really naive.. sorry to have barged in on the topic
