Like the title says, has any1 brought books/dvds from amazon?

I'd like to buy some dvd sets of serials that r available on amazon.

each set costs abt $30.

what i'd like to know is is there any maximum amount to spending on online shopping sites? i'm worried about some rbi guidelines which was printed in the credit card brochure i got with my cc. i read somewhere that i can spend max of $250 only. does this include shipping charges too?

also i'd like to know how to maximise the buy so that the shipping cost is minimised according to items. shipping cost for books are more costly than dvds there.

Hmm...ive ordered stuff with my sisters card from amazon but always shipped it to friends in the US...value has ranged from 15-100$ and never had a problem. I plan to order my first ship-to-india order next month!

ive ordered big bunch of books to the US and had a friend bring them back here

ive ordered books from amazon shipped to me here many times . i had no problems . it took 2 to 4 weeks to come here cause i used the cheapest shipping mode. shipping is expensive so buy couple of items rather than 1 or 2.

im not sure of any rule of maximum amount that can be spent for online shopping . call up your CC company and ask them .

Ordered DVDs from Amazon on four occasions. Never ran into any trouble. The postal guy brought the package home. No dutes, excise etc. The package was opened however the products were not tampered with.

Over the last 2-3 years, I've had no issues getting CD's and books from amazon - they've always arrived in 2 weeks. Shipping is expensive if you only order a couple items, however. Works out a lot better if you throw in some books and CD's.

1. Ordered a DVD set via USPS, reached here in under 2 weeks.

2. Ordered Gumball 3000 DVD via USPS, reached again in abour 3 weeks.

3. Ordered 3 DVD sets for a friend (LOST, Desperate Housewives and one more) via USPS, about a year ago. Never received.

I would suggest that if you are ordering more than 1 DVD set, get it couriered, that way if the customs guys stop it, the courier guys will let you know.

was it 15$+6$/additional item ?

what happened with the dvd sets? any refund etc ?

I have ordered few books and dvds frm them...It does take 2 weeks to reach...there are other modes of shipping frm them that are faster but expensive...

@nukeu666, how do i get the shipping done through couriers? is there an option for that on amazon?
cause i'm mainly interested in getting complete boxed collections of tv series/ movies on dvd. if they disappear in transit then i'll be at a loss....
