Anyone appearing for GATE?

Is there 60% minimum required in grads for the IITs if anyone wants to apply?? Few of my friends are in dilemma ... I'm not in Technical boat though, had enough in 4 years of Mech Engg :P
 
[strike]afaik you only need to have finished bachelors to be eligible for masters in IIT.[/strike] checked the sites and 60% is required.
 
I'm also appearing for GATE 2012. ECE student.

Yeah, I m from ECE too. Any good books to study from? One of my prof asked me to join any coaching institute. Is it really necessary?
 
Guys a friend of mine applied for GATE & made the payment online. he hasn't sent his application form yet. He wants to cancel the exam & get refund.

Is it possible ? If yes, then how ? Thank you :)
 
Guys is there any advantage of giving GATE if he doesnt wants to do ME/Mtech

i have heard rumours that some non-government(i mean private companies and not govt. ones that already consider gate score like barc and ntpc,bhel etc) org recruit freshers on the basis of Gate score
