My interview is on 12th June 11AM @Chennai.

Post your dates too...maybe we can have a nice TE Meet at the consulate :bleh:

Hey Kumar, u may create a separate thread in the Events & Meets section; :)

I'm sure many Chennai peeps'd turn up [depending on the day and venue :P];

Thanks to all!

@Kippu
Which country has the max visa apps in this time of the year? USofA!

@Gannu
Prolly i won't be able to meet any one either if i get the visa or even if i don't. If I get, ill be too excited to meet any one, and if i don't get it, Ill be too depressed to meet any one :)

@Switch
LOL!

@Cyrux
Ive allready made the travel arrangements...thanks anyway :)

^All the best for the VISA. Things seem to be quite bright for many F1 folks this time at the Chennai consulate. :)

Btw you are headed for which university?

There's abs no reason why u should be denied be one!! :)

Best wishes, go ahead; Dont panic for any queries asked by those ppl;

And if u get it, it'll be too good to share those with the folks who'd be there for the meet aint??

lucky beetch. i lost the lottery :(

For which VISA. I think the lottery situation is for H1B only, right?

@Kumar: Just keep your documents ready and in order and every thing should go well.

I do not know which VISA you have applied for, but I got my B1 VISA from Delhi and it was just a 15 minute affair. But the guy before me (he was from Infosys) was not so lucky. It seems he did not have all the documents in order and his poor English replies pissed off the guy which does the initial phase document checking and rejected him on the spot.

The same thing happened while I was at the interview. The Visa Officer was denying even B1 Visas. Why would they would they do that ? Its not as if he is going there to be there to spend his life time. Its going to be for short period of time.

His questions where like , what kind of project are you handling ? Why do you need to go there ? How many people work under you and so on

EDIT: yes, H1B, company applied. bye bye onsite :bye2:

There is always the L1 and B1 visas which are simpler to get for onsite opportunities ;)

Dont think Kumar is going on an H1.

The H1 thing got complicated now, it is a draw of lots and if you dont get it you lose 3000 dollars of the processing fees anyways. That is what greenie was on abt I think.

^ I dont think so. If your name isn't in the lottery then your money will be refunded. Its only if your name gets picked and then you don't clear the interview, the money is lost.

Oh, Hi!

Well, me got rejected as they didn't beleive i would be coming back :(

She didn't check ANY of my docs. She only saw GRE/TOEFL/Provisional and asked a couple of questions like which university and what did you do for the past 1 year (me completed BE in 2007).

Im applying again in 10-15 days though....
