anyone on airtel 512kbps unlimited

Anyone got the airtel 512kbps unlimited plan yet ? Just wanted to check what kind of download speeds you guys are getting.im getting around 60kBps speed during normal download whereas im getting only about 55kBps in torrents.ive forwarded my ports and am using utorrent.any suggestions on how to increase speed..

During a single download, the speed is ~56 kb/sec but with multiple simultaneous downloads I seem to be reaching 62 kb/sec collectively.
 
Well, thats about what I get with double speeds to 512 in the night time, although sometimes the speeds boost upto 70-80Kbps during wee hours of the night.
 
Plan launched 3-4 weeks ago, I upgraded in the last week of June. And double speeds = double price, where's the mystery :P

no night double speeds and this plan isn't applicable in Delhi or NCR infact this plan is applicable only in Karnataka,Andhra pradesh and Tamilnadu..

Mumbai does have an unlimited 512kbps connection but thats like 20999:wtf: :O

Does the 512kbs plan require you to use the phone as well ?

..cos i heard from last month or so, new subscribers to the 256kbs UL plan are required to use the phone thereby adding Rs.300 to the total bill.

I got on the 256kbs yrs back when this requirement was not there.
 
@Rio: You seriously paying 1999 for the 512kbps unlimited plan?!? I'm paying 900 plus taxes which comes up to 1010 bucks a month!! They upgraded me from my 256kbps plan to the 512kbps plan for free, so maybe that's why. But from what I know, they aren't advertising their 512kbps unlimited plans out here in Pune... yet!
 
Last weekend, I went to the local Airtel center to enqure about the availability of the 512k plan and to know when It would be available in the north region. It seems that the person who was in change of the broadband section earlier has left or transfered and a new lady was sitting in his place.

I casually asked her about the 512k Unlimited plan. She tells me that Airtel only offers 128k Unlimited for 700 and whether I would like to take it. I told her I am already using 256k plan. She tells me that their 128k plan is faster than my 256k plan (She probably thinks that I am on Sify or something :rofl: ). Now I wanted to strangle her. :@ I told her that I have been using Airtel's 256k Unlimited plan for more than an year now. She was dumbstruck. Leave aside the 512k plan, she didnt seem to know that Airtel provided a 256k Unlimited plan.

With that my hopes of getting some info about the 512k plan were shattered. It seems I know more about the Airtel broadband plans than that person. :no:
