Car & Bike Anyone Owns a Skoda's Fabia Car ?

Skoda Fabia is better for long drives, but in performance its get beaten by Hyundai Getz. Overall its better package, comfortable, good features. but not VFM @ all.

Amen to that..

After that very short drive in Baatli's car, I luvd it.. :D

I have an old 1.2 and that car guzzles fuel like a thirsty person in a desert.

I get an average of 8-9 kms /ltr (petrol)

No doubt it is very powerful.

if you could probably wait for a few months..

you may even consider the grande punto..

GP is slated to release somewhere in october i guess..

thats odd, my 1.2 never gave me below 11 in the city with 100% a/c. on a long drive once never going over 90 i got 16. is yours the nv or pre nv one ?the pre nv one had some odo errors.

eh, why not ? what's wrong with the palio 1.6? it can leave any hatch, Except maybe the above mentioned Getz in the dust....

You seem to have a few prejudices. Please state them first , instead of flaming those who are against your POV

First of all, Hi, Friend to be clear, I have no personal grudges on anyone or this entire forum, And to be true I value this forum because its one of the best Technical forum running in India.

Palio 1.6, :O agreed for its 1596 cc and 100 PS engine. But come one mate 9.5km/ltr add to it, it will be petrol. 51RS per litre And My college is at 11 Km from my place, so itslike investing approx 100Rs per day. Sorry I seriously cant. Plus personaly.. I'm again stretching "PERSONALY" I feel the shape sucks! Offcourse Different people, have their own choice and I respect them.

Sorry agian and YES.. a correction

FABIA AMBIENTE is 1422 cc and 69 PS@4000 RPM

Hey Mod, Thanks a ton

But I did post this topic in GENERAL TALKZ ..Didnt I ?
I know its pretty hard moderating because I've been there and done that. Still thanks a ton.
AND STICKING TO THE TOPIC....

My question was, " Whats the mileage of Fabia (DIESEL) approximately, If anyone owns it?"

Good, because we do have a few palio 1.6 owners here who are very satisfied with their cars.

Ohh.. I never knew that we can use characters or other ASCII's to speak whats on our mind

Some words which can be used offensively are auto censored here, hence my usage of special characters. I guess "ass" isn't one of them. Well, you got the message right?

I've ripped the hell out of a Getz CRDi, Palio 1.6, Swift D and a Fabia, for 0-60k acceleration, 60-120k, and max speeds.

Performance is in the order of :

Getz CRDi > Palio 1.6 > Skoda Fabia > Swift D

This is in performance terms alone and when I say ripped, I mean red lining every shift and slamming the gears with minimal clutch use.

@bottle

Yeah I know :|... But I did my studies there too... But at the end I was left empty with only knowledge that they also don't know the amount of mileage, Fabia gives... They all give me odd answers like 18, 20, 22 per litre but none are sure and they all say "THIS IS WHAT I'VE HEARD" So no certainity. So in the end I asked my friend to suggest the best forum for these kind of general talks and he said, TE.

And TE members are always full of surprises and unpredictable. You might not know when one of the member had landed on MOON ( Jokes apart :-j ) I thought atleast one would had own a Fabia car

Thats why my post title is also weird and with question mark? ( Usually I dont do this )

Great.. thanks

So we have a performance chart.

Mileage chart If Im not wrong will be

Palio 1.6 < Getz CRDi < Swift D < Fabia P < Fabia D

So since Price is not a big issue for me I think I should again finally short list to FUSION and FABIA ?

^^ Hmm, is the mileage given by company, or you getting from any car owner??

If you got it from company.. then never trust :bleh:

PS - Baba khush aahet vatat, porala Gadi denaar aahet

Nothing new mate, it's a common story.. people aren't aware much about this technical marvel thingy (Blame it to Hyundai's poor marketing towards this product)

OOPS.... Apologies for the mistake, too many variants always confuse me... :S

Seems you are too much eager to get the those magic figure. Rather then banging your head with the tech-heads, DO head over to Fabia Ownership Report @ team-bhp. Looks like it is meant for you only :)

Cheers

@gannu

Excellent I was looking for the same kind of help.. and that mouthshut.com review was excellent. I dont know how I missed that

@ all, you should consider reading it once

Just for a glimpse and if you dont want to read that review, read this

The Fifth thing--Engine, aahhh.. so you want to know if it is really upto the mark? Nope and yes, depending upon your level of sophistication. To all Tata Car users, this is the Mercedes E-class itslef. To all Mercedes users, the engine doesn’t quite cut the mark! You dig? What i want to say is that, the engine is noisy (right down to a hammer banging constantly on a metal sheet ! Good for all you ’ Metallica ’ Fans! ) , that too coming from a Skoda (i have driven the Skoda Octavia and this is same engine with 3 valvesinstead of the four to save on costs and improve mileage). Thats not all, the engine has a definite turbo-lag (not happening!) and waits to fly off the handle. But yes once it does fly off, there is no stopping the car, it touched 125 km/hr on the highway in a matter of seconds! Vrroom Baby! So its not going to be great for the city in the stop-and-go traffic, situations. Yes the engine is smooth like butter but unfortunately at this price i would expect more than just smooth.....i would like to ’Feel Special’ (Pun Intended!).

Pricing for the diesel base version is roughly6,58,000/- the next model costs 7,17,000/- and the top-end costs 7,87,000/- all ex-showroom.

So who would buy this car at this price? All BPO team leaders/people who want to make a statementwithout shelling 10lakhs for a Skoda Rider/Toyota Corolla/ /bank senior level executives / ladies who want to dirve a safe upmarket, expensive, yet small car / young adults with lots of money! All of those who want to show their status yet drive easy in the city, due to the small form factor.

So would i buy it.....Yes / Maybe if i had the money and was only driving in the city and was a ’Metallica’ Fan and wanted to make a Statement ! Anybody feel like gifting me one?...Please?

Well this definitely suits me,

Metallica Fan - Yes I'm
Do I want to make an statement - Sir, yes Sir, I do

Well Company quoted, 22 - 24 km/l .. Which I also find it quite bluffy

Off topicNahi re, Babaana tar Scorpio gyachi aahey....Dad is like I'll take Scorpio for me and a second hand alto for you :( But its me and only adamant me who is with the point, "If we are buying a car then its only one and its Hatch back and no MUV, SEDAN or SUV"
