Anyone used air fryer ? Is it a boon for fried food lovers as they claim to be ? Is it really 100% oil free ?
Any personal experience with new kid on the block ?

Seen it in action last year in a mall...

Its not 100% oil free but very little oil is required while cooking...

Works great for Mccain Frozen foods & a variety of other fried, half cooked mixes available in the market.. Tastes as good as the real thing most of the time.. Also its dishwasher safe so cleaning is easy..

But it does have certain limitation... You cannot make those besan pakodas.... They will not be as fluffy as the real thing.. Other than that I guess you can pretty much make most fried foods including Samosas, Kebabs, Bread Pakoda & various other things.. There are numerous recipes in action on Youtube...

Also this channel has a number of Indian recipes made using PHILIPS air fryer...

It was with frozen food but I didn't saw the brand.. Then they made cutlets & hara bhara Kebab using those premixes available nowadays..

I guess it should work with other frozen food brands as well since the temp setting is upto 200 degrees & most frozen food is similar to manufacture.......

Consult the youtube channel... I am sure it covers most Indian delicacies...

How could is it with home made stuff. Can it manage deep fry requirements, like Poori or French Fries.

It's basically a smaller convection oven. If you have a convection oven , it's not required, unless you're also looking for something smaller to keep in your home.

Main thing is it should work with homemade stuff, not really keen to buy frozen stuff from outside.
Ya its awesome... if you can wait for 45min for one samosa.... :D
its some stupid flop product which will be obsolute soon.....
watch youtube videos of singer air fryer... phillips is equal...
Else eat your normal oil cooked food and go for a jog/walk/run everyday morning... :) Thats even better....

Poori won't be possible. French Fries definitely. Like I said before, it's just like a convection oven, but with forced air to heat the food evenly and faster. It's called a fryer because it replaces oil medium (a liquid) with air medium (both of which are fluids anyway).
