Is there any affordable apartments/localities in Bangalore?

Let me just list my requirements:
1. Single room with a kitchen or double rooms with a kitchen. No halls needed. It doesn't have to be big or very spacious.

2. Not a po$h area like Koramangala please lol. But it shouldn't be on the outskirts of the city either.

3. A market (not talking about malls and stuff like that) nearby with proper transport facilities would be nice.

4. A rowdy neighborhood is a BIG NO-NO. And away from mandirs if possible. Preferably a Christian colony if any.

Please don't ask for my budget lol. Just need infos on how they are and how much they cost.

Thanks.

You'd do good to find accomodation in an area close to your office/university. Commuting more than a few km here is a nightmare.

So there's no point suggesting anything unless one knows where your place of work/study is.

If you mean the traffic problem then I've read a lot about it. Seems very bad especially during rainy seasons.

Work would mostly be online (my other thread has some details) with the rare meetings once in a while or when necessary. I would get the benefit to do a huge part online. How are the brokers there? Are they reasonable to deal with?[DOUBLEPOST=1520272881][/DOUBLEPOST]I just heard about the "nobroker" site/app. I'll update later.

You can get a 2BHK for around 10-12k in areas like Rajajinagar, Vijayanagar etc. These are closer to CBD than they are to the IT hubs like Kormangala, Whitefield etc.

What's CBD?
Anyway I don't need the Halls. Tbh I'm very picky about this because if I don't utilize any space the cost will just be a burden on my face. Which is exactly why I'm having a bit of a problem. But the good thing is I can do even with little space. Like, I mentioned a dedicated kitchen but I can do without that too. I just put a gas stove, cylinder, some groceries like dal and rice and eggs and oil. That's it. So if it's a single room and it's big I can just use a small part of the room for the "kitchen." On top of all these, Bangalore seems like an expensive place to live in. At least more than Delhi.
So for now I'm looking for one 1RK. I heard about a place called Ejipura which is near Koramangala. So I'm checking that out right now. Also even if I don't move there, there is someone who will. And if we both move in together we might go for 1BHK or similar.

Btw about the "No Broker" thing, it's a good site but it has negative reviews all over. Horrible customer service, duping people of their money through various shady tactics etc. Just Google it. It seems useful only to check the looks, availability of homes and their locations. Nothing more.

CBD is Central Business District aka Majestic. It's where Bangalores main bus stand and railway station are situated.

If you're working from home why do u want to stay close to Koramangala? It's one of the most haphazardly planned layouts in Bangalore. It's built on a swamp. The more traditional areas like Rajajinagar, Basaveshwarnagar, Malleswaram etc. have much better amenities and won't break the bank.

You can get PG rooms for even 2-5k per month in some areas.

Why don't you try the Flats without brokers facebook page. You will find a lot of room to rent over there.

Well for one I heard it's one of the "best" places in Bangalore, so I thought the nearby areas would be nice too even though not as nice as Koramangala. Secondly, I've got relatives there so good to live close-by.

lol i have no idea about Bangalore man. Just some things which I read about or heard of. How far are they to each other? I do know about the serious traffic problems though lol. As long as they're not on the outskirts like Delhi-NCR it will be fine I guess. Also a friend who lives in Ejipura told me about the place and spoke of how super crowded the place is and the general cheap mentality of the people there and told me to find some other place. So I'm still keeping my options open. I don't want to constantly shift places.

I'll keep that as a last resort.
Thanks.

By best if you mean restaurants, business parks etc. then yes. I wouldn't recommend staying there though unless you want to stay close to your place of work to avoid traffic. Open Google maps and check the distance (and time) from these places (Rajajinagar, Basaveshwarnagar, Malleswaram, Vijayanagar etc) to the City Centre (Vidhana Soudha, Majestic etc).

Most of the opinions you'll have read will be from people moving from out of the state to BLR. Koramangala, HSR, Marathahalli, Whitefield etc. are all areas where there are lots of IT companies etc. The only reason you'd want to stay there is if u work in one of those areas.

I got it. So I guess those IT areas are no longer necessary then. I'll check out the other places you mentioned. And no I don't go to po$h places. Thanks again.[DOUBLEPOST=1520360063][/DOUBLEPOST]Good internet facilities will be plenty in those areas no?

ACT has laid fiber in most of these areas. 100Mbps+ speed available. Even the local cable operators give 50Mbps+ speed.

Update: It's decided. It's gonna be Delhi guys. Couldn't find a proper place in Bangalore after all. Thanks all for the valuable replies. Really got to know a lot about Bangalore lol.
