the digi 100 can supply a max load of 660watts.

ur apc UPS can support a max load of 600watts,but ur rig won't even consume more then 350watts.

My rig consumes only 154 watts maximum its 144 wats normally. What about the amps the digi supplies only 3AMPS even the lower model APC the 650VA

says : Input Connections = India 3-pin 6A (Its 6 amps i think )

APC BACK-UPS ES 650VA 230V INDIA

Could this amps thing be the reason for the failiure of APC even though the DIGI 100 supplies 660watts...

@Rockfella how old was yours when the battery died?

sam000 OMG......... where do you live? before digi the input was 170v - 154v?

and after using digi 192-132 volts :O

Your electricity line is of no use for any electronic devices..... I remember you telling that you live somewhere nearby Chennai. Could you specify where?

I think you are running in a single phase current. If you have 3 phase provision try changing the phase supply to the room where you have put up your computer.

With the kind of electricity line that you have.. for sure none of the electronics will have a long life... You can better go for a PSU change which can handle 110- volts to 220 volts instead of spending on stabilizer or UPS, because all these stabzers & UPS are designed to provided 230 volts and with such low input it will struggle hard to provide good output and end result is replacement after replacement.

Use a spike protector and get a good PSU. Forget about the UPS or stablizer for now. I would consider doing this if i were you....

Sorry its a typo it should be :

fore using DIGI 100 Voltage Varied from : 170V-254V

After using DIGI 100 Voltage Varies from : 192V-232V

Re: APC BR1000 7th replacement exploded HELP!!

@sam000-have you connected your UPS to your home inverter connections???if so that may be a reason. I was using an online UPS for my pc adn it exploded twice, then i was told that was because i had connected the UPS to an inverter powered socket. The problem stopped once i connected it to a direct 15Amps socket, but had to buy a new UPS, as the old one was damaged beyond repair!!!!!

Re: APC BR1000 7th replacement exploded HELP!!

^^Bro i dont have a inverter but i have it connected to a stabilizer which is 3 Amp while the APC is 6 Amp .I called them and spoke to a APC engineer he said 3 Amp stabilizer is more than enough for BR1000-IN i dont know what to do now:no:

You have tried all possible ways and still it resulted in failure of your UPS. About the 3 amp stablizer its more than enough i would say. Practically it means that your input voltage is 220 volts * 3 amps = 660 watts of power. So your digi can support upto 660 watts.

Its really strange that your UPS is failing. Try a cheap brand probably microtek 1 kva UPS and see the results. Who knows it may work better, however not sure whether it will handle the low voltage part.

If I remember correctly, the UPS is burning of sudden spikes, and the spikes are passing even with stebilizer in place.
Did u see the inside of UPS after that?, is it the flat capacitor and its sorrounding burnt?
if you have not tried using UPS with a good spike bustor (like MX), try it.

Edit: sorry late post, looks like your UPS is already dead.
