I seriously doubt anything is going to happen.... Apple, Facebook, Google rules the geopolitics of entire world.. something might happen in UK ( like they already make some fine rules for charging ports) but i have high doubts for US.
That is always the case with EU leading in regulations. But the right to repair bill has quite a lot of traction in the US right now. If they are changing the construction of the iPhone or Mac to make it more repairable, they will be doing so globally. Hence, hoping that the developed nations push for this together.
