Laptops Apple RMA experience ? : Macbook Retina

So i bought an apple Macbook Retina 15" thats still in warranty, the screen was internally cracked in transit the glass on the screen is immaculate, from what Ive inquired the screen costs about 40k to replace through apple.
I wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with Apple India ( Mumbai ) around physical damage replacement.

After paying a hefty sum in duty and shipping the deal is kinda sour and i dont really have the cash to get the screen repaired, just wanted to know what are my options and if anyone here works for Apple or knows someone to understand the procedure and if they could help in any way.

if u received it broken shouldn't you be able to file a claim with ebay??

no , third party carrier got it here, lets stick to the topic of replacement with apple if anyone has any details and could help ?
