The exhibits show how Samsung's handsets looked before the release of iPhone in 2007 and how they started taking the look and feel of the iPhone , not immediately but after 2010 .

Samsung has acknowledged being inspired by the iPhone but has told the court that every electronics manufacturer, including Apple, is influenced by its competitors.

:scared14::scared14::scared14::scared14::scared14:
this is how i felt seeing the pics.
But this is crap as all the new range of TOUCH screen phone have a big screen and two or three button which dosent means it copy the iphone design.
i felt that touchwiz on sammy mobile looks like copycat. Y U DON'T HAVE DIFFERENT UI?

It is not a question of fear.
Everyone knows Apple copied from LG,Samsung copied from Apple, htc copied from everyone.
Apple's main grudge is against Google, who stole the best thing Apple had!
Apple in turn stole the notification system from Android and used it not only in ios but also their Mountain Lion!

Little do you know that notification system existed on the iOS Cydia market(for jailbroken devices) even before Android had it. I had it on my iOS device, hence i can make the statement. Google is not so innovative after all.

Also history has shown that Apple blatently copied and hired the Cydia developers and their work for its future updates.

Well, there are certain limitations in designing touch screen phones. Buttons or touch keys should be at the bottom. There is no way one can "innovate" such stuff and redesign in different manner. This design was more of common sense, not an innovation. :-/ I won't be surprised if Apple in future compares their customers with Android or any other phone users in terms of talent.

i have seen people buy Samsung phones ( galaxy ace etc ) just because it looks like iPhone , it looks like they have intentionally made it similar to get more sales .
See the design is almost same :|

Are people so dumb that they cant differentiate between "Samsung" and "Apple" logo on the phones? Why would someone choose Samsung if they want iPhone man !

^ they choose samsung because its much cheaper than iPhone and looks similar ..

They also know that they're getting an Android not an IOS device. Not because it's looking similar. It fits within their budget hence the reason to buy a 3.5" device. Taking about Samsung Ace as per your previous post

Or may be because their budget is around 15k in first place and Samsung gives a lot options for that range and their phones are more value for money than other manufacturers who sale phones in that price range!

yeah .. there may be many more possible reasons for choice .. but the question here is that it imitates the design of iPhone .. even the touchwiz UI is similar , why cant they make some better UI like HTC did with Sense ?

Don't want go into copying debate, but the touchwiz on the S3 does not look like iOS at all and is much more intuitive. Anyway, it might get updated (at least the skin, looks) for lower ends device too, one day.

Let us ignore the F700 that Samsung patented in 2006.

There were several other phones with similar minimalistic designs demo'ed before the first iPhone. In fact design wise, the iPhone looks a lot like like the SE P910i (minus the detachable keypad) that I was using around 2004. The UI is also nothing new considering many phones were already using the grid of icons style UI for the applications menu apart from some sort of home screen. 2005 was the time when slowly touch screen phones because a lot more viable than before and a lot of manufacturers were developing and demonstrating their designs which mostly comprised of a rectangular brick whose front is dominated by the touch screen apart from 1 to 3 buttons. Apple too jumped on to the same design approach. There is nothing revolutionary about the design or UI, but rather a evolutionary step that most other touch screen phone designers were also adopting.

Apple is never going win these cases. Even if they win they will never be able to prove that a certain copied(?) feature has affected their sales/profits.

Stop wasting time on such topics , every fortnight , samsung or apple put some kinda blame on each other . I guess there is a mutual agreement between them to stay in public lime light all the time .

I just don't understand why samsung din't sue meizu?
Meizu MX - Full phone specifications
Their design looks so similar, Even resolution and screen aspect ratio is same. They have also modified android in a way it looks much more like ios.

May be because they believe in competition! Or they believe they did not invent a rectangle with round corners! May be, they believe most of the features in a phone are obvious! May be because they are not hypocrites...
