Apple may have a decent ASS record in India where ASS of most companies is pathetic to non-existent, but in US, I have heard they have just as equally good or bad ASS as others. Just a couple of days back, I was watching a video on youtube of a girl who claims she was screwed by Steve jobs despite being a loyal Apple customer for many years. She had issues with warranty coverage of her Mac Book. Even in India, getting good or bad ASS from Apple is a matter of luck. A couple of colleagues had not so great Expr with Apple care.

From what I have read , Apple's service in US is very very good .

Correction: Minus the iphones i.e. You get international warranty for the rest of the line-up - ipods, macbooks, ipads etc.
 
Nothing new . Have experienced the awesome Apple after-sales service almost 4-5 times in the past with mine and friends ipods. Once my battery life was reduced to 12-15 hrs instead usual 20 hrs. They replaced it without any questions . No hassles whatsoever and usually replacement arrives within a week. :)

Little strange for me..Becuase one of my friends had a very bad experience with them. His ipod touch 32G went bad (won't even turn ON) just one month after purchase. They gave him a refurbished one which had several scratches and they said they can only replace with refurbished items. So, I though Apple support was equally bad as others out there.

Refurbished items are also sealed and as good as brand new. Dunno how your friend got a ipod with scratches. :S
