PC Peripherals APU UPS GOT F`ed UP !!

Hey guyz need a little advise.
Check my rig in my siggy. My UPS just stopped working . when ever i turn it on .. it goes like beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp. I long. It has been on charge for last 5-6 hrs. Even with out any thing connected it does not opens up. SO i complained..
Now the question is ...

1)do the agent who will visit my house actaully call me as i am not home most of the time.

2)How literate r they about the ups stuff. DO they actually have knowledge or they just come .

3)Whats the procedure like .. how many days before i can get a replacement will it on the spot or i have to wait.

4) Will they try n put the blame on me and so that they dont have to get me a replacement !!!

Within the week of purchasing any APC product, a Technician comes to ur place to Calibrate it. I too wasn't home so he came but didn't knew the exact address so went without calibrating it. I called APC Customer Care and the sent guy within 2 days and he did his thing. As I asked him about stuff, he told me that they have set values for every UPS so they calibrate them by the book. He even gave me his databook :ohyeah: but soon after he left my UPS started giving me backup issues so I called again and this time too within 2 working days, a guy came to my house with the replacement UPS and took away my defunct one, for no price at all! APC's service has been by far the best service I have ever seen considering the fact that the Service guy came from Chandigarh to my home, that almost 150 KMS !

When I had trouble later on with the UPS, the main engineer at Chandigarh center even told me to abuse the UPS as much as I can within warranty period and if the warranty finishes, even then he will buy back the UPS from me. :hap2:
 
hey noone came to my house for calibrating any thing. May b thats beccause i didnt call. Anywaz i calld them back they said it will be done on the spot.

But do they try n put the blame on u saying its ur fault and thus try n not give u a replacement or do they give u a replacement no question asked !
 
how long have you been using this UPS? whats the warranty period left? I advice that i would keep giving to ppl using APC UPS is that, do not go in for a replacement of refurbished unit.

Always ask them to replace the part which failed in your UPS. I have personal exp and i asked the PCB in my UPS to be replaced in front of my eyes. The reason... god only knows how the unit which is to be given to you was used.

I guess it should be a battery failure in your case. If not ask for a repair or replacement of your UPS and do not go in for a replacement unless they provide you with a new unit
 
Well mine ups is almost 1 yr old . was bought on 18th april. How is he suppose to repair it in front of my eyes in my home? Doesnt he need to go to factory or something. I doubt if its the battery .. it happened all of a sudden !!
 
Mine got replaced thrice! 2 times they gave refurbished units which looked pretty beat up but 3rd time they gave me a brand new one :ohyeah: I had to protest a little when they gave me beatdown busted up units but they never put the blame on me.

My issue was that my 1KVA UPS used to gimme 1.5Hrs of backup when it came new. Then slowly the backup time reduced to 1 Hr then 40 mins then 30 minutes. Well the reason was gradual decay in power of the batteries but I was too n00b at that time to understand it and I kept asking for new UPS or refund and I kept getting replacements. :bleh: Only when the final time their main engineer came to my place, he told me to ground the UPS more properly to get quicker charging time and more backup. He also advised me against using the Power chute software citing it to be one of the reason for low backup.

Nevertheless if u r getting service and replacement from proper APC guys, u can be confident of good service alas its Delhi, people can sell u Atlas cycle in the name of Ducati and u will still feel happy. :tongue:

dont worry...any ups has max of 3 major components, battery, transformer and the PCB (Motherboard). If he determines the component which is causing the problem, they can replace it in front of your eyes in your home.... If a component in the PCB is the problem you can ask them to replace the PCB or else ask them to service the PCB....

APC factory is in Gujarat i guess.... for sure all the kaput items goes to gujarat where they do the same thing... just replace the PCB or transformer or what ever and send it back to the dealer.... as simple as that... you can very well ask the service personal and i am sure they will do it...

I did the same and they changed replaced the PCB in front of my eyes at my home.... i personally felt satisfied since they did it at my home.. hardly a matter of 15 mins....
 
will do the same thng then !!! Will ask him to replae wtever is faulty in front of my eyes.

UPDATE------
Got a call from APY @ 11.15 .. and someone came here @12.00 sumthin. He came picked up mine and gave me a replacement. I wasnt home so was not able to ask him to repair mine.
Very quick service thout !!
