That would be me :P But that was long long time back.

What tips are you exactly looking at ??

@OP

I did not fully understand what you exactly meant by shop and ship giving chinese address and all

can you please explain more ?

Is it that we can buy something from some chinese websites and get it delivered to this aramex china address and if then what is the customs etc ?

It's the same as SnS for UK and US, now they're available in China as well. You can buy from any online store in China and get it delivered to your Chinese address Aramex gives you, which in turn will get delivered to your address in India by Aramex. I think they also take care of customs clearance etc. as is the case with UK and US.

Hmm interesting, now all we need is a few good Chinese sites who won't rip you off for some cheap knockoffs and who won't empty your bank account with fraudulent billing. :)

yes you got it correct $600 and 27 kg no export license required from China

Our customs and duties remain same

no changes on Indian side

Anybody who knows Chinese? I'll give you 50 bucks for every order that you place for me. :P

Seriously, without knowing Chinese, it's impossible to move around in newegg. :(

Ok Ok got it....the here are the options with its pros and cons

1. Amazon.cn -> Not very good choices but they give COD (irrelevant for us).

2. Newegg.com.cn

3. taobao.com -> Best of the crop for all the deals. But bad part is payment by ALIPAY/chinese bank account so we cannot do much. Also google translate wont work on this website so dont bother. I mean for normal operations it wont work.

Things to get -> Cheap portable video players from companies like Ainol, Teclast, Onda. Phone from Miezu.

Things not to get -> HDD, Cheap chinese phones, cheap MP3 players,

Not really. I have made N number of purchased from newegg when i was there and i have even had chat with chinese customer care people but you need lots of patience and google translate.

Open two pages, one newegg in chinese and one translated and navigate

Anyone planning to buy ainol media players (they are very good IMO, personally using), search for the string "艾诺" on newegg.com.cn and see the options.

Few notations: The screen size is either 4.3" or 5" or may be more

4G/8G actually means 4GB/8GB model.

Translate the page that interests you and see its specs.

Now i think it is time to make contact with my chinese friend to order a PMP. Not sure whether i will as i am yet to decide on which one to buy.

Btw ainol is also available on MP4nation.

One very important thing you have to take care of is that these players DO NOT come with TV out cable and we will need to get it ourselves. Not sure whether it is available here or not. This is if you plan to watch the videos on your TV.

MP4 Nation is selling one player Ainol V8000HDZ, a 7" PMP for 110 USD which comes to little less than 5K shipped. But the same player is available on Taobao.com for 420 RMB average which is less than 3k, so even after adding aramex costs i dont think it will reach the MP4nation rate.

I suggest use chrome browser to browse these chinese websites as it offers on each page to translate making tasks simpler and even taobao gets translated properly using that.

Btw anyone knows what would be the approx customs on MP4 player or any way to know beforehand ?
