Graphic Cards Are Chinese GPUs from AliExpress Worth It? Looking for Experiences on RX6600M and RX580 2048SP

Hey,
Has anyone bought a Chinese GPU from AliExpress or similar sites? I’m particularly looking at the RX6600M (mobile version of the RX6600) and RX580 2048SP. The RX6600M seems efficient but might be weaker than the desktop version, while the RX580 2048SP offers decent entry-level gaming but with fewer stream processors.

Do these GPUs come with good warranties? Are they reliable for long-term use, especially for gaming or productivity tasks? Any experiences or advice would be super helpful!

the rx 580 is just an old mining card with rx570 performance. Plus the rx 580 would be something I would consider back in 2019, not in 2025.

Can't say much about the 6600m, it would be stuck at 100w tdp and the fans would be a bit annoying depending on the variants with little to no fan control from what I've read. Along with the build quality being questionable. You won't be getting any warranty with any of these either. Haven't kept myself up to date with pc parts so I have no idea how it performs.

GPU isn't worth it one bit. Even if you use a freight forwarder to avoid paying customs, I wouldn't buy a GPU from china. I am currently using a refurbished e3 1230 v2 cpu from aliexpress that I bought almost 6 years back which works perfectly but aside from buying small tidbits from china along with the lack of any warranty, I would avoid it. Get a used gpu from here (without getting scammed trying to buy a gpu that resells for 20k at 11k)

Thanks for the detailed reply! Yeah, I figured the RX580 2048SP is pretty much RX570-level and not worth considering in 2025 - more of a curiosity than an actual option. The 6600M had me interested for its price-to-performance, but the fan noise, build quality, and lack of fan control were concerns I came across too. Seems like the risks outweigh the savings, especially with no warranty and import hassles.

Appreciate your take - helps a lot to hear from someone with firsthand experience.
 
The problem nowadays with Aliexpress is that you might be charged customs duty on it. Few years back I used to import stuff from china and never had to pay customs. Now things have changed and that extra duty on the item makes it a bad deal.

Yeah, same here - I used to order a bunch of stuff from China too, mostly accessories like thermal pads, fan hubs, riser cables, and even some laptop BIOS chips, all without any customs issues. But I never risked importing a GPU, which is why I made the post. With the current customs situation, even budget cards become a poor value once duty kicks in.

Not by conventional methods. I’m not 100% sure if it was AliExpress or some other China-based site, but sometime around late 2021, I managed to get a few mobile gaming triggers and some coolers shipped in using a freight forwarding service. Took quite a while to arrive, and there was some customs uncertainty, but it did reach safely. Haven’t tried it for anything serious like a GPU though, which is why I asked here.
 
Got a couple of cpu's and a GTX 750 back in 2017-18, I guess. Cpu's are still working. Gpu died after 2 years. But that was when AliExpress was working. I don't think it's worth it anymore. Also, the prices of GPUs' is not that good anymore there. You can also forget about warranty.
Best bet is buy locally.
 
Yeah, fair point. I’ve heard similar stories about older GPUs from AliExpress - some last, some don’t, especially with sketchy thermal pads or reflowed dies. CPUs tend to hold up better over time, I guess. And with today’s pricing and no warranty, it really doesn’t make much sense anymore. Finding a good deal locally is tough too, but I suppose I’ll have to be patient and keep an eye out.
