Rich are those who buy HDTV just so they could play games on xbox 360. But I guess you know where I am going with this.You would find more people who can digest the thought of buying the Xbox 360 once they already own a HDTV that they use for general TV usage and movies.

man Consoles can beat upto some extent but can't kill PC gaming. PC is superior than Consoles in every aspect. Though consoles of today are more than a gaming machine but they can't replace PC gaming.
PC gaming is more Eye Candy and if u have moderate current generation hardware, they simply kill consoles.
Consoles were previously meant for gaming and they will continue as a major gaming hardware but PC is an all rounder. So no way PC gaming is dying!
Besides Consoles are expensive and there are very less service centers available for consoles. On the other hand PC doesn't face such kind of problem.

PC gaming being killed by console games........NO WAY!!!
lets look at things rationally...
1. Not all are lucky enuf to get or can afford a console
2. Next gen consoles cost minimum 24k
3. PC with a decent enuf GFX card and good set of ram and atleast 2ghz procy can pretty much get u the eyecandy what u get outa the console.
4. Console game lack one thing thts multiplayer support if u MOD it where as PC games there are soo many cracked servers...
5.WOW for instance have millions of player online 24/7. (o my PS3 and X360 can't have WOW.......OMG!! not developed for next gen)
6. Huge cult following of CS till date all over the globe....(o my MGS or resistance fall of man.......keep dreaming)
7.Develop one engine make loads of money outa those Console games (Smart move by the game developers.......UNLIKE Crytek)
8.I feeling like kicking someones A$$ (join a cs server/TF2 server PWN some noobie).......(sry no TF2 server for the X360 or PS3).......(Sad framerate for orange box on PS3)
9.WCG all the way for PC games (PGR kinda flop in India)
10.Piracy for PC games in India (i'de say realease all the games for less than 700 bux and Piracy will reduce by 50%)
11. OMG I MODDED MY X360 and now i wana RMA it ( Microsoft: sorry sir u'll have to unMOD ur X360.....if thts possible)
12.PS3 (ME: Do you have a BLUERAY DISK
Local Vendor: WTF if that)
13.DVD9 not available locally(need to tell the vendors exactly what DVD9 is)

Well that's for the Indian perspective.People abroad have slowly started adopting Blu-Ray as a standard.Plus that's a future investment & a built-in advantage of the PS3.BTW I thought the topic was refering to killing of PC "gaming" not "movies".Ero-Sannin said:

Hmmm.... I would like to declare PC RULEZ first of all 
Console gaming never appealed me.... I have tried PS2 but PC still rox , I can play from WOLF to F.E.A.R on my PC. PC has more keys , no stupid mem. cards & PC's have CHEATS, if you are bored have nothing you can try a quick dl of a RIP (ooops) and start a game within a few minutes. On the other hand you have the PC, you go lookign for the CD, it takes time.
As long has microsoft is there, Good games will come to the PC, Bioshock ,Lost planet.

i dun care if a game is a multiplatform or not...

when u compare some thing u need to have level playing field.
u cannot compare a console which renders at 720p or less with a expnsive high end PC which will render games at 1900x1200 and then say console gaming is cheaper.
1) u can build a PC which is only as costly as a console and still get better graphics at 720p
2) regular updates :S
a)dat used to be before (last gen) when games were made for th PC and then ported to consoles..but on the other hand PC games used to look a hell lot better then their console counterparts.
b)Now a days games are made for consoles and then ported to PC and hence look similar except that on Pc it supports higher resolution.
So if u are happy playing at a particular res then there is no need to upgrade.
(But its human tendency to upgrade if u have the option of doin it )
3) PC games cost half that of the consoles..when u buy 8-10 games for console u pay so much more then u would for the same on PC .
U could have easily put that money on upgrades.
Plus play subscription fee to play and download contents on consoles
4) the only thing on PC is that it gets less exclusives and doesnt have have a 1000 strong PR team to market the advantages of it as its open platform and not owned by any one.
Compare on equal playing field..cant compare a Honda civic with a bugati veyron and then say civic is more value for money
So dont comapre a console with a quad core and 8800gtx SLi machine.
Compare it to a dual core and a 8600GT machine :cool2:

Again please do not promote piracy. Pirates will be pirates no matter what. Its not about the money these days rather the ease of availability. Games can be so easily downloaded through net these days then why would someone bust there a$$es trying to find a game in the market. There is no solution to curb piracy.

Spoken like a true fanboi. Even i believe that PC gaming is far from dead and yes a PC can be technically superior but that does not mean that PC gaming Pwns Console gaming. Both the platforms have their respective advantages and disadvantages , in the end its a matter of personal choice.

console gaming is unaffordable in India because of the cost of games..
between 1500~2500 ..on an avg Rs200
when the same title on PC costs less than 1000 bucks.
some of the newer games cost even less than 700 bucks.
