Are PS3 games region free?

Like the title goes. Are all PS3 games region free. If not all, I would like to know in particular about Ratchet & Clank FTOD. I have asked a friend in States to get it for me. Will this work on a PAL console ?

yes PS3 Games are region free. Only movies are not

they are region free but a few games ntsc to pal compatibility issues.this can be soleved if u use a hdmi cable.

The games do have regions, but can be played one any PS3 cause its not region locked. blueray movies are
