Are the Samsung Corby series, Girly Phones ?

I was so inclined towards the Samsung Corby TXT but I kinda felt the Samsung Corby including the TXT seem to me as a girly phone, what are your opinion on this :ashamed:
 
how and why?? you feel its girly phone, whats so girly in that, if the way it looks is girly then probably many other phones with such bold look are girly, nokia phones like 6700 and 6303 classic look more girly then eva. please tell us more clearly what are your apprehensions about the phone.
 
The color yellow (although you get a black changeable color back plate) + somehow every time I saw a corby in someones hand it was a lady or a girl.
 
well then its very subjective, but i really dont find them girly, its just that the colors are too bold and bright, for some they would look striking and would attract attention and for others loud colors means girlie.
 
I recently purchased Corby s3653 thinking that I'll give it to my mom after testing but in 1 day I changed my mind completely. It may look girlie(only due to bright color orange or yellow you also get a black back cover) but it surely packs a ton.

  1. It has pretty good sound quality(DNSe) as I was not counting on it at all until I tried some songs and the supplied headphones are really well built and can be compared to SE walkman in-ears.
  2. I've no words to explain the Icon-Interface of main screen think of it as Win7Widgets.
  3. Amazing touch os, it can read Excel, PPT, MSword and PDF files out of the box.
  4. It has one of the best file-managers.
  5. It has Websters complete dictionary as an application, cOOl no!.
  6. Excellent internet browser w/support for flash and excellent touch response(when compared to 5800Xpress).
  7. Camera's OK but camera UI is amazing has smile shutter too.
  8. You get 2 back panels w/cool leather pouch and a 2gb card's free too.

I know I've not yet tried a lot of main features like facebook, orkut, email, twitter and some other widgets. I'm waiting to get a Aircell sim w/unlimited internet usage @100p/m.

Its a all use no backwas phone(get yourself an unlimited GPRS plan though). You cannot ask for anything more from a phone worth 7.5K(I got it for 6.5K via ebay).

thetoxicmind was that reply meant for me? I'm already changing the back cover to black just to see to it that it doesn't look like what you say. I got the orange/saffron one as it represents Āryāvarta(to me and Peace to Indians).

As long as you are happy with your phone, nothing else matters!
 
OMG! Thanks a ton Aman, now I am more inclined towards the Corby Touch.

Anyways I had a budget of 5500 and was inclined towards the TXT which is around 6500 Rs, anybody had a hands on with this phone.

Looking at Amans review the touch too seems a viable option for me but then ill really have to strech my budget.

Edit: On Youtube I am seeing the Corby S3650 while aman has the S3653, what is the difference.
 
Yes, for me it looks like a girl wearing a pink, orange, blue & yellow tops with black jean with some silvery jewels:D:ohyeah:

samsung never claimed corby series made for only girls though, so cheers:D:hap2:

I'm also using an Aircel sim. That 100rs pm. is for unlimited browsing or downloading?
 
just get it dude, i also got 1 though 4 my sis :) , but its no way a girlie phone ,i may sound stupid but i use 2 think even nokia 5610 as girlie , get touch 1 i checked txt edition ,d keys r 2 plasticky
 
U should never judge a book by its cover. a phone is just a phone man and any body can use it.the only point u should look for is IF THAT PHONE MATCHES WITH YOUR NEEDS.If it does........then to hell with what people says do what u want to.SUNO DIL KI AWAJ,dude.If u still arn't convinced then buy it and just change the back cover. Simple...............;)

+1 :P , i just dont buy the perception people have around this phone, the phone is really bold, and it does manage to make a statement, thats how i see it, girlie or not, well if it does what u want, then doesnt matter if a girl uses it or a boy.

Went over to Irla (Mumbai), Alfa quoted it at 7600rs while Classic Telecom quotes it at 7500rs. Earlier the day had been to Croma and guess what, they are selling it at 9700rs. :S

Anyways I have decided to go buy this phone, was all over youtube today and just cannot resist this phone anymore. Girly or no Girly I am going for this phone. :hap2:
 
i have seen more samsung marine phones with the fairer sex(girls,aunties,old women!) maybe bcoz they are way too careless and that fone would take any punishment they can throw at it. and i thought the marine was a masculine phone.

Different model number for different markets.
Both are the same device!
