Are you into smartwatch - how about a 3inch screen

Was going through this crowdsourced smartwatch project which sports a 3inch screen and claims to do all of the following.

The Rufus Cuff is the world’s first Wrist Communicator. Web, email, fitness tracking, messaging, voice or video calls… all on your wrist.

Going by the specs its almost a mini smartphone strapped to your wrist. 3inch wide screen, 16GB memory, Bluetooth 4.0, speaker and mic, Wi-Fi, accelerometer, gyroscope, GPS.

So would you buy something like this? How about the other smartwatches like the Galaxy Gear and all?

I doubt the hardcore watch fanatics or purists should I say would like to go for a smartwatch to add to their collection.

Watches are classy. This (and every smartwatch) looks gaudy and bulky.

Nopes. 3" screen = size of my old Sony phone. That size plus thickness on the wrist will look horrible the moment you put it on. Unless the phone has a wafer thin battery and screen its out of luck. Plus a smartphone has most of the features in it. Why would anyone carry duplicate set of items on them that do the same thing?

That looks so horrible.... For a watch.
Call me apple fan but I hope they actually come out with a classy design with functionality (although limited since it is apple and they will hold back features that they can give).

Pebble steel is nice and Motorola's watch also looks nice.

Need to try them on first. Hope they land in India soon.

I guess we can just strap on our mobile phones which we are using right now using an arm band, rather than invest in these hideous devices.

looks okay but its not for everyday use, looks like strapping a phone on the wrist. what happen if you hit with it and most easily it looks like uncomfortable to wear.

No need of a touchscreen on everything. A smartphone can still work well with 4 physical buttons. (1 Menu / On / Off, 1 - Back , 2 - Directional scrolling)

You sure you want to do either when the device is strapped to your wrist? Your arm will be in an unnatural position. We'll surely have an increased incidence of "tennis elbow" when we start using such devices.
