Hey guys am using a my friend's MSI 8800GT OC and it plays all games without any hiccups.. but in source its artifacting real bad.. dunno why.. the other games i tried were nfs undercover, tomb raider underworld, fallout 3 etc..

Looks like corrupt or missing texture files then. Try deleting and reinstalling.

But thats only if its specific to this game.
 
these are not artifacts, but missing textures, try reinstalling and updating your gfx drivers, afaik, there is a new nvidia forceware released 185.xxx ..
 
i think hes on the 180.48 driver.. not beta... dude.. did you try reinstalling the drivers after you got the card?
 
I agree doesn't seem like artifacts. Looks like the textures are royally screwed. If u look at the ceiling u can see a CT uniform texture.

But since u already tried reinstalling and all that it may also be the hardware, and it can be several issues :(. Try the following:

1. Check Temp for the graphics card

2. Check a different power supply

3. Or maybe it could be the OC. Sometimes OC'ing too can cause issues in the game.
 
if its happening with 1 game, that rules out the problem with the card atleast. We can then shift over to software issues. Could be a driver issue or the game might have corrupt texture files. Did u try what other people have asked you to ?
 
Happens to everyone playing tf2, usually starts when you alt + tab between game and your desktop. Try and avoid this and you should be fine, else , try running the game in windowed mode. Should work flawless, known thing on source games afaik.

^^ he tried windowed mode too,, didnt work..

reinstalled.. didnt work..

TF2...? that never happened to me.. i alt+tab all the time :P
 
it doesn't look like a problem with the card at all. as someone pointed out, those are CT textures on the ceiling. that cannot be artifacts. where are you reinstalling from?
 
TRy re installing the game and updating the files or get the gxf files from someone else and try using those...
