So ACIII will not be the only assassins creed game releasing this year. Instead of ACIII port to PSvita a separate AC game will be released for it named Assassins Creed Liberations and the protagonist it expected to be a Female Assassin! :ohyeah:

Assassin's Creed 3 will be headed to the PlayStation Vita, but it may not be the title we once thought. Rather than a direct port of console game set to release later this fall for Xbox 360 and PS3, the PS Vita will be getting an entirely separate game titled Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation.Featured in the latest issue of GameInformer, according to a NeoGAF user, Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation will feature a female assassin who goes by the name Aveline. It appears as if the game will be set in the same time period of Assassin's Creed 3 - during the years 1765-1780 (around the French and Indian War). However, this story will take place in New Orleans and apparently have no connection to Desmond, though I predict some connections with the console game will be made. Liberation will also take players across the Gulf into Mexico.
Details about the story are vague, but right now but it appears as if Aveline's mentor will be an escaped slave named Agate, who is the leader of the assassins in New Orleans. According to the post, the game has been released as a "propaganda tool by Abstergo, who want players to experience a gray area of the Assassin/Templar conflict as an Assassin rather than a Templar."
Remember the recent Assassin's Creed 3 trailer that showed Connor taking on a bear? Well, it looks like his Vita counterpart will be tackling wildlife creatures like alligators who "hide beneath murky waters."
Developed by Ubisoft Sofia, the Vita game will have "true Assassin's Creed gameplay" and a multiplayer experience "specifically tailored to the Vita experience". That being said, you will still be able to explore large gameplay areas through traditional Assassin's Creed-style parkour.
With E3 set to begin tomorrow with press conferences, I'm sure we'll hear more from either Ubisoft or Sony. Seeing as how we're on our way there now, we'll be sure to get you all of the details. I'm literally writing this on the flight to L.A. (Virgin for the win!)

Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation Appears for PS Vita:

Rumor has it that this handheld title will be all about a female assassin stabbing her way across the Bayou.

According to details from the latest Game Informer Magazine posted by a helpful NeoGAFer, Assassin's Creed 3 won't be the only Assassin's Creed title to hit shelves on October 30 this year. Slated for release on the same day for PS Vita is Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation, which is said to be set during roughly the same time period as its big brother.

Liberation will be based on "large gameplay areas" in the city of New Orleans during the years 1765-80, with the franchise's first playable female assassin as the main character. Named Aveline, she'll reportedly bump into Assassin's Creed 3 protagonist Connor at some point during her adventures in the Bayou. Those hoping for more action from Desmond (no really, they exist) will be disappointed, however, to hear that he won't appear in this game; an as-yet-unnamed-but-not-Desmond character will instead control Aveline from an Animus.

With Ubisoft Sofia as the main developers, the game apparently promises "true Assassin's Creed gameplay" and "multiplayer specifically tailored to the Vita experience." It hopes to make use of the Vita's build by involving both the front and back touch controls in pickpocket attempts. You'll ostensibly be able to assassinate your foes (including alligators that love lurking underwater) using a variety of new weapons, including a sugar-cane machete, a musket, and grenades.

There are a whole host of reasons to be excited by these snippets, not least Aveline herself and the era during which she must engage in stabby-jumpy-hey-a-haybale activities. According to the posted information, she is of mixed French and African descent, a true reflection of the beautiful, multicultural mess New Orleans became during the eighteenth century. The opportunities for innovative murders and fascinating characters are endless; here's hoping Ubisoft Sofia takes advantage of them.

Expect for more details on Liberation to stalk their way out of the shadows during this week's E3 conference.

‘Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation HD’ confirmed for consoles and PC

Assassin’s Creed: Liberation HD, a big-screen update of the late-2012 PlayStation Vita title, is headed to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, Ubisoft confirms. The new and improved take on assassin Aveline de Grandpré’s adventure through 18th century New Orleans sports a number of improvements, including beefed up graphics, more detailed tutorials, dual-wielded weapons, and a better overall user experience.

This HD re-release of Liberation also sports a handful of new missions. There are three sets of five missions, 15 in all, with each set focusing on one of Aveline’s Personas. The Vita take on Assassin’s Creed introduced this idea of Personas, which are basically costumes that can be worn to influence how the world of New Orleans responds to you. Your Assassin Persona, for example, is always hunted and needs to stay out of sight, while the Slave and the Lady Personas offer different sets of freedoms and restrictions.

Also new is a set of story panels that will pop up between missions to help players focus on particular aspects of the plot. This added emphasis on highlighting the story will also serve to showcase the improvements Liberation HD‘s dev team brought to how individual character performances are animated.

That’s about the extent of it. Ubisoft has yet to confirm a price or release date for this one, so stay tuned for more soon.

Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD arrives on Xbox 360, PC and PS3 January 15

The XBLA version of Assassin's Creed Liberation HD is slated for 15th January, Ubisoft confirmed on Twitter, making it synchronised with the PS3 version's release.

The PC and console port of PlayStation Vita game Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation will arrive in January priced £15.99, Ubisoft has confirmed.

Liberation HD is now available for pre-order on PC and PlayStation 3 via PlayStation Network and Uplay, and doing so will net you a 25 per cent discount, cutting the game's cost to around £12.

Xbox 360 owners who have bought the Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag season pass will get the same discount - "for a limited time only".

Liberation arrived exclusively for PlayStation Vita in November last year, when Eurogamer's Tom Bramwell judged it an enjoyable if not essential chapter for the franchise.

Liberation HD has been reworked graphically to appear closer to Assassin's Creed 3 on console. Audio, AI and facial animations have also been brushed up and 15 new missions have been added, while some touchscreen puzzles have been removed.

Started the title and completed some 35% odd in a couple of sittings. :P

Suddenly, the game has had me hooked! Not many side missions are available but the main mission appears to be interesting going by the storyline and the turn of events. The lady protagonist Aveline, is good and occasionally reminds me of Ezio. Game mechanics are the same as the previous versions except for the trade system wherein items can be sent to other cities. I have attempted that only once which was a part of the campaign. Shall continue this until completion and begin Black Flag next.

IIRC the dreaded black bars are visible. Unless I switch to the HDTV.

Gannu, You still haven't started Black Flag Yet? Why so?

Don't know man. My gaming schedule has taken a hit since October. Catching up slowly.

Liberation is progressing pretty quickly with complete synch. for all the missions barring one wherein Avelin has to face 6 guys including a boss and is not supposed to take a single hit/damage. Very hard as blocking these guys itself results in a quick riposte thus causing a damage. Tried a dozen times and then left. This is a short game in the AC series.

This is weird. I got my card back, installed the latest nVidia drivers and fired up this game only to find out that the controller is not working for this game. It works fine for every other game, so it's definitely not the controller's fault. I didn't have this issue prior to sending my card in for RMA. Tried to update the drivers from Microsoft's website and also switching to 'Xbox 360 controller' from the game's control options menu, but nothing works. The vibration option is greyed out.

Yes, only this game seems to be acting up. It's working fine with Call of Duty: Ghosts and Black Flag.
This game does has issues regarding the controller. My RT and RB seems to be inter changed with this game. High Profile on this game works with RB and not RT as it is supposed to.

Since this game has been released for other platforms too I think we should move it to general games section.

Anyways guys after finishing brotherhood I am thinking of trying this one. However the reviews are pretty bad. Can anyone here say if its worth playing?

Don't expect much from the game. It's an ok ok title. IMO Aveline was a much better character than Connor. The Story is pretty slow in the middle and missions are quite small but will pick up towards the end like the way it did in AC3. Game is comparatively quite short. Took me around 5 hours.
