Graphic Cards Asus 8600gt or xfx 8600gt

i have finally bought my computer after waiting for 2 months....i haven got a dedicated graphics card and am plannin to buy the same.....my dealer says he has got only two versions--- asus 8600gt for 8800 rs and xfx 8600gt for 10k ....which one is better......heard xfx doesn hav hdcp...does it make a difference???? and please reply faswt am desperate to get a graphics card..........
 
XFX does not have HDCP, thats true.

That means you cant watch protected HD content like BR or HD DVDs on your HDCP compliant display in the future. Does not matter much for gaming. But at that price you should not buy the card thats not HDCP.

AFAIK in India only ASUS and POV are offering HDCP 8600GT.
 
well in asus u are getting HDCP and the card is 1.2k cheaper........would buy it with my eyes closed.......

ur dealer is asking for exhorbitant prices...when I bought my Zebronics 8600GT in May it cost me Rs.7900/- + 4% VAT.Back then the XFX 8600GT was Rs.9000/- + 4% VAT.

Chk out these cards:-

1)MSI NX8600GT-T2D256E-OC - its lacks HDCP though

2)XFX GeForce 8600GT 256MB DDR3 DUAL DVI - once again lacks HDCP

3)Well hence u'll have to settle down for the Asus I guess
 
ASFAIK Asus 8600GT is one to go for my friend bought an galaxy 8600GTS and its worth the money he can overclock it with the zalman fan. Asus one is who has a HDCP is around 11.2k last time i check the price
 
yeah i know the pricing is atrocious.....last week the same guy quoted 8.2k for xfx 8600gt...now he says demand is too high and supply is less....mayb thts whuy.....so everyone recommending asus one ...howz the service....i stay in chennai....
 
plzz reply......i jus read about the scary asus service in pc peripherals section........what do u think i shud do......
 
every single RMA will be scary if your dealer is one of those who is just there to sell stuff. Basically all brands have issues with the RMA and after sales service here.

So dont let that be a deciding factor in choosing a product. Always go for the product which is better and stick to dealer which will give you good service.
 
If you are worried about RMA issues, go for BIG ! I had a Geforce 6600 GT AGP which went kaput after 1.5 years and without asking whether I overclocked the card or did anything with it they gave me a brand new one after 2 weeks.

hdcp does`nt make any difference..so big deal bout it..
XFX is supposed to retail at around 8k..ur dealer is quoting a high price..
i`m getting XFX 8600GT Fatal1ty for 8700 bucks in a few days..
