Hi all, I have a second hand Asus A8N-E Motherboard which I bought about 1.5 years back. It is lying idle. Now that I have i have decided to run it, I will be buying a Bijli Cabinet. However, the seller did not bundle the back plate when sending the mobo :S. I want to know whether I will be able to run my Asus A8N-E without the back plate :ashamed:? I have been bugged by this issue for too long :S, please help me guys, advice me on what needs to be done.

Thanks and Regards,
GPMlore :hap2:

^^ Are you talking about the backplate or the rear I/O panel?

You can put a WTB thread for the I/O (or backplate) plate for that mobo. Many people used a8n-e boards in the past, so if someone has a dead mobo and can sell the panel, buy it.

There is no proprietary back-plates. So Its possible that some other mobo's back-plate might be used...

I am using a Zotac mobo's back-plate on my download rig which has an ASUS mobo... :)

Though the back plates seem alike, the placement of the openings for ports differs.. So its a bit difficult to find a match from some other motherboard..

back plates are a essential item ,it prevents EMI,

1.) To stop the dust bunnies from dancing on the capacitors on the system board.

2.) To control the EM radiation and keep it inside the case.

3.) To block outside EM (such as a TV set) from interfering with the computer

4.) to help ground the motherboard

im facing similar problems...need to replace mobo on my compaq presario 1928 desktop pc...will mobo's from asus, gbyte etc fit in the case ? and do they come with thire specific io panel and backplate if bought new ? plzz help !

yes,but your rear I/O plastic cover (if has) to be removed.you can use all boards under the specified size.you can use new i/o sheild too.

Indeed difficult but no impossible... :P

@GPMlore.. Look around locally, few dealers might have older back-plate & something might fit.. but it will be painstaking & cumbersome..
