They were invited by Shamino to represent India. A detailed report will be up on THL when they get back.

@K1D0M4N, only 4M and 8M runs for the competition. You shouldn't take this sh1t too seriously, life isn't about records... it's about the ride and how you enjoy it ;)

Yea... contacts do help.

@RiO: Hey, you got my name right? :P On topic, i am aware of that. Also, if you say "life isn't about records" (as I did couple of months ago in XS) you get warning PMs from the moderators. Diff stuff has diff imp for diff people, aint that right? I am all for enjoying rides... btw. But when in Roam, do how the romans do it :) They have gone to Asus "Extreme Overclocking" championship dammit... how much more loud does it need to be :P

Waiting for the detailed report on THL.

Looking forward to it :)

ot: Why do we Indian people need to go to SG to compete? Cant we have a competition right here in our desistreets :P

Well, dunno how the contacts thing helps but i can say this for sure-

Shamino wouldn't have called me for an "Extreme Overclocking" competition even if he knew i could OC; i.e. even if i could OC a lil in the first place.

Coz as far as Harshal is concerned, that bloke is way too deeper than what appears on the surface- just like the tip of an iceberg.:O
I have rarely seen him posting most of his stuff/works; esp in showoff.:)

Darklord ofcourse needs no introduction/recognition amongst Indian OC community.:ohyeah:
Especially being the 'Poorest' guy he is.

And one thing is for sure-
Lotsa peeps from various nations will realise Indians aren't snake chamers or street magicians or Tantric sex gurus or the likes at least...
(the last part i cannot be 100% sure :P- Darky and H gonna kill me for this.)

So i say a proud moment for all Indian people, especially Indian PC enthusiasts.:hap2:

Especially when we have two rather fine specimens representing India- and in a way, yes, representing India as it's the only team there.:cool2:

What is gonna be the bigger bomb for most is that they do not work in industries even remotely related to Tech- Pure Passion is pure pwnage imho.:ohyeah:

I agree with you in "majority" Atleast the image of india will take a uplift now :) Btw, no one thinks we are snake and sex gurus (actually i wont want to change the second part :P)... considering the number of jobs they are loosing to us.... :P

:) The second part is absolutely non modifiable. It is a static final variable :P We are good at sex and no arguments...

There is a billion plus to prove that

all eight teams were stuck with the common set of hardware and software. As for the cooling, they could use all their wits, but most stuck with LN for the CPUs and dry ice for the GPUs. Also, despite the Blitz Extreme's Fusion Cooling chipset heat pipes with a direct water block capability, no one seemed to use it - rather, everyone focused on CPU and GPU overclock.

Besides the achieved clock speed, the gangs competed in measured results on SuperPI, PCMark05 and 3DMark06.

The Australian team, lead by Tim Marshall of i4memory.com, won with the results:

SuperPI 4M - 1m, 3s
PC mark 01 - 74,580
PC mark 05 - 11,855
3D mark 06 - 15,027

This was done on a 4.4GHz QX6700 off FSB1760, running with FSB3:5 bandwidth DDR3-1466 at CL10-9-9 - the Kingston memory seemingly comparatively slower than the new OCZ DIMMs though. The GPU ran at 810MHz. The CPU voltage, by the way, hovered around 1.6 volts on most booths running the processor at this speed - the second-place Taiwanese contender, as well as most others actually achieved this speed after a while.

Only 4.4GHz, you'd say? After all, new QX6800 can manage over 5GHz using LN, as shown during the recent Computex. The feedback from the show floor is that, well, there IS a difference in how far the QX6700 will go compared to the faster QX6800, even when the steppings seem the same.
