The Intel P45 Chipset motherboards, prior to Computex 2008, will be the battlegrounds of motherboard manufacturers such as ABIT, ASUS, DFI, FOXCONN, GIGABYTE, Intel, MSI, etc.
Before the lifting of the Intel P45 NDA, all the motherboard manufacturers have already made sure that the performance their Intel P45 related products are perfectly optimized!!
Reports from foreign countries have also been leaking information about these motherboard products!!

Next, let’s understand why the Intel P45 chipset has influenced motherboard manufacturers to launch new products during this period!!
First of all, there was poor performance of the Intel P45 with PCI-Express x16, up until when the PCI-Express x16 problem was fixed by Intel. Based on the Intel Roadmap, the P45 Chipset will be launched soon in Q2 of 2008. Thus the biggest difficulties faced by all the motherboard manufacturers during the development stage will be resolved!!
Thus speeding up the release of P45 related products!!
With the understanding of the above, XF will now bring you a lot of product information and features about the ASUS P5Q Deluxe!!
At the same time XF will also bring you information about P5Q Deluxe's performance, after all this is developed by Taiwan and we must be the first to report on its performance!
Actually before the lifting of the Intel P45 NDA, many in the media will not test its performance in order to avoid unwanted attention from Intel, however, if it is good enough, who cares about the NDA, we must show its performance, isn't it great.....Ok, enough of talk…Ha, Ha…Let’s get on with it!!

The following is the ASUS P5Q Deluxe product
The following are some of the product features of the ASUS P45 Series motherboard
  • True 16 phase power
  • EPU2-6 engine
  • New version of Express Gate
  • Driver Xpert for easy RAID configuration
  • 8X + 8X CrossFireX
  • DDR2 16GB support ( 4GB x 4 )

The P5Q Deluxe utilizes the ASUS True 16-Phase power design.
How much will this design help the CPU? Let’s continue …
I think the best function is to supply the CPU with more stable and cleaner power, so that it will certainly help the CPU OC performance, particularly in multi-core applications!

ASUS defines the 5723 SATA Port as Drive Xpert, and can speed up hard disk I/O as well as for easy configuration!!

i hope its not another marketin gimmick by Asus....

anyways any idea abt the price for the same ?

Another? Gigabyte apologized for the their "explanations". But off topic to talk here, so I'll stop.

EDIT: I mean for the EPU stuff.

^^Yeah seriously; Just another marketing gimmick;

The only one AFAIK that does a proper Quad-CrossFire is the Skulltrail p/f;

Does Quad SLI as well; :)

thanks for new friends !!

predatorvj can u get best deal on this motherboard for TE peoples ??

few of the guys like me might be intrested

I thought, X38/X48 had 16x + 16x PCIE slots. So, boards based on those chippies should do Quad CFX, shouldn't they?

P45 suffers from performance scaling even with 2 GPU crossfire. X48's extra bandwidth starts to open up the gap even with 2 4850s. Now imaging how much will be the performance gap between the P45 and X48 / X38 if you plan to do 2 x 4870x2.

Quad CF is just marketing gimmick for P45. If someone bought this board for that then he is simply stupid.

The one thing in favor of P45 is its ability to clock to 600+Mhz.

If anyone wants a board for crossfire setup, they are better off with X38 which can be had for less than what dlx version this board costs now.

noob ques.. but why would dual 8x lanes limit CFX?? are we at tht point already with the 3870 X2?? :S and links to ne reviews tht bring this up?? Was gonna be my next purchase but if tht's true then i go to X38/X48.. :ohyeah: or drop the CFX idea all together :@

I bought a P5Q motherboard for a friend yesterday from prime for 8050, but it turned out to be a lemon i.e. it was DOA :(

havent read much on this topic, and lazy to do the research, even I would be interested to know. Last i read about a year ago, graphic cards were not able to fill in even AGP bandwidth.

8x+8x crossfire mobo's should be enough for regular crossfire like with 2 x HD4850.

But when you crossfire two Dual GPU cards the avg lanes available for each GPU decreases even further. With the high bandwidth capabilities of the latest cards, PCIe 4x would not be enough for each GPU to run at its full potential.
