Hi guys! Hope you're all doing well. I'm new to this forum. Came here to seek some help from your brilliant minds because all else has failed. Tried GeekSquad and Staples Tech to no avail. Even tried Nvidia Forum and Asus Forum and no answers. Now I'm not sure if I'm posting in the appropriate place but if not, just let me know or move this thread please.

So to begin with this is my build:
Mobo: Asus P8Z68 Deluxe/Gen3
CPU: i7-2700k
RAM: 8 GB G.Skill Sniper Series 1600 DDR3 (1.6v)
GPU: Nvidia GTX 275
PSU: Rosewill 1000 watts
HDD: Hitachi 1TB 7200 (3GB/s)

Alright. What i was doing was upgrading my CPU and my Mobo and case. I previously had an Intel DP55WG with an i7-960 and everything worked flawlessly. I turned everything off and took all the components off my Intel board and just moved them into a new case with the new board. I was grounded so i know for sure there was no shock. Turned it on and I see the VGA LED light up and it stays on. So I tried swapping out the RAM with my old RAM from old board, no avail. I then tried swapping my GPU out with an old ATI card that doesn't require extra power to run and IT WORKED! So I tried putting back the GTX 275 and again the VGA LED turns on.

Now what people have been telling me is that I may not have enough power (1000 watts PSU) or perhaps my card is just dead. I didn't want to believe any of that because for one my card's fan was spinning, assuming it's getting the power it needs. Then I just popped it back into my old board with old CPU(sitting on anti-static plastic) WITH the new G.Skill Sniper RAM I bought and it posts!

So now I'm coming to a conclusion it's this board and the card just don't mix? I've been without a computer for almost a week now and I'm going crazy not being able to put my finger on it. If any one of you geniuses can help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it! Any suggestions are welcome too. Should I try putting the i7-2700k in the DP55WG and see if perhaps it also may be a CPU/GPU compatibility issue? Thanks guys!

I would think it is the PSU. I doubt the rails on that PSU, and the Asus one is not accepting the ATX 20+4 throughput it is receiving from the Rosewell. Can you try another PSU on the new set up. By the 1000W is more than enough though, but still try another PSU.

Well the rails deliver 12v if that matters. I saw another person's build where he said he uses the same Mobo and uses an Antec CP850 with a GTX 560 and that works, so I am gonna buy that today and I'll update you guys. But it says the rails also deliver 12v on the antec too. BTW Thanks guys for the speedy replies. I appreciate your help.

i think its you GPU it cannot be your PSU coz it is 1000 watts so no matter how low 12V rail is its max out put will be at least 700 watts and i don't think a GTX 275 can consume that much power in full system load not even near, so its your GPU i GUESS.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, but I'm not sure what could be wrong with the GPU since it works on the Intel Board just fine. Also I saw that someone was running a GTX 560 with this board so it just makes me more confused.

UPDATE: Thanks guys for your help and suggestions! I swapped out the card with a new GTX 560 ti and it works! If only now I can get rid of that BOOT LED light I'd be great haha. But again guys. THANKS SO MUCH!
