Looking for a 23-24 inch monitor for my gaming setup....primary- gaming, secondary-movies.
I already got Dell Alienware AW2310(120Hz) + NVidia Vision and looking for an IPS panel to complement this on my desk.

I need a monitor with atleast one HDMI and a DVI port, because I got a PS3 and a XBOX 360. I don't like routing through HDMI-DVI converters because i have to route Audio differently. Also, I have to remove my PC DVI connection to connect my consoles and there are no cheap DVI switchers available. Dell AW2310 has a DVI and a HDMI and i want a IPS panel atleast with these ports.

After lot of searching, only 2 monitors meet my reqs and budget: Asus PA238Q, Dell U2410 (U2311* dont have HDMI ports unfortunately). Only differences between these 2 montors are (LED vs CCFL, 23 vs 24 (duh), 1080p vs 1200p, p-IPS vs H-IPS)...p-IPS is just a variant of H-IPS, so there shouldnt be much to choose there. At ITdepot, Dell U2410 is 20k, and my local mumbai dealer gave me 17.6 K for Asus PA238Q. May be I can find the Dell one little cheaper in mumbai. Both seems to be good monitors. I am not sure which one to go with.....I am not really worried about 3K diff...

what do you guys think? I tried the Internet and the big G.. I couldnt find any definitive comparsions between these two monitors. All comparisons are between U2311* and PA238Q.

Go with Dell U2410.

I have the ASUS but it is having the backlight Bleeding issue. If you are OK for the Bleeding issue then definitely ASUS is Good for the money.

How bad is the backlight bleeding. I am not fussy about how the screen looks when everything is off. i.e. some people demo on youtube with pure black screen with a backlight bleed. when you say bleed? - at the edges?

I never used a LED screen before. So, Does this affect color? i.e. more bluish or reddish...or is it just there at the edges slightly distracting?

It is nothing affect colors etc...the bleeding appears only when the screen black. In my case it is in corners. It will not distracted. But if u started worrying about the bleeding u will always notice :-(. People try to RMA but again they got worst monitors, so i have not RMAed. I got it for 16k 3month before(i have the limited budget, otherwise i could have bought the DELL 24". it was 25k at that time).

If u can test before buy just make the screen black and switch off all the light in the room and see the screen is pure black. check two or three monitors(i don't think they will allow) and select which is have minimal bleed.

Otherwise it is a excellent monitor with DVI, VGA, DP cables and 3 diff type of power cables are included. :-)

For LED, only diff is u can save some power(watts) and the backlight is changed instead CCFL to LED. otherwise both are same.

But for 3k more the DELL is worth buying

it seems itdepot just want to tease me..They do not have U2410 and 20K is an impossible price point for it. Primeabgb in mumbai gave me 27.5K today and other websites confirm that price.

I will have to sort out the budget, but 10K difference is a lot.

I might go for PA238Q. Unfortunately U2412H or U2412HM do not have HDMI. I do not like Dell dropping HDMI in favor of Displayport.
