b/w wats so badass abt X1600 lol...

lolz man i ve seen ppl gettin crazy over nvidia go 7400 or x1400 at prices over 65k.
X1600 is a league apart atleast for the mobile division , not to mention the price u gettin it at.

Oh, I did go crazy over a go7400 and here is the reason why

the go7400/x1400 do not have a heat dissipation problem and are not too power hungry thereby lending themselves admirably to A4 sized sub 2 kg 12"/13" laptops

SO when I want to run a couple of NFS MW races on the go, the go7400 comes to the rescue...and when I am at home, I use my desktop for the eye candy

So for me, a 3 kg laptop with a middle-of-the-road GFX system is neither here-nor there

However, I am sure there are a lot of people for which this lappy suits their requirements perfectly

Having said that, do keep in mind though that the S96J is available at a price lower than the Go7400 /X1400 machines you are comparing it to for the simple fact that any laptop below 14" sells at a much higher price for the same config compared to a 14.1"/15.4"

Where exactly is this available locally? :p

I've yet to confirm my order on the FS Lappy, but if I can get my hands on this with the X1600, that too locally, nothing like it.

Enlighten me with the details will ya?

I doubt this is actually available in India, atleast not at this price tag. It would in all probability fail to even recover the component and manufacturing cost. I would rather wait for an official word or a reliable source to confirm abt its availability at this price tag. So where did ya get this gem of a info from Sirius? Hope you dont work in Asus India!

I doubt this because I was at their free notebook service camp a few weeks back and checked out a few of the models at display there. Even the basic celeron laptop was quite costly in general. But they do have competitively price laptops in a mid range budget of 60-80k.

3 Kg laptop?? Are you krazee!!! Anything above 2.5KG doesnt qualifies as laptop but rather as small desktop PC.

lol that really wd be a personal choice.
For me half a kg wont make much of a difference :D but for sm1 else it mite make all the difference ;)

awesome laptop man with a super awesome price :)

stunner of a graphics card.. although i doubt its gonna be available at that price. if you do get, damn iam getting this :p enough of x700 acer for me :p

about the weight, well its either below 2 or as well don't bother, Portability is best when its below or just 2. Once you go above you might as well look at the est value

as far as heat issue , asus has taken care of it from all the reviews and info i ve read abt this Model.Battery is 1 problem , while gaming it ll last you abt 1.5 hrs which is pretty much ok in my case.

Ohh nd i was comparing the prices of s96j with same category laptops of 15.4 inch , almost all of dem r atleast 15k costlier than this in which not even half of them havin x1600.
I agree with ya that smaller gets costlier btw :)

For all the ppl who asked me if the price s real or its yet to come in india,The price is exactly which has been given to me.comes down to 58k with taxes and will get my lappie in arnd a week or so (arrgh these holidayz :()

VBI is already launched in india.Try and search in your city for a VBI reseller.I belong to Chandigarh and have already located 3 VBI resellers in here (to make the price check). If you want exact shop add in chd , i can give it to ya.
It wasnt that hard to find either.
on Intel , there is a link of Genuine intel dealer in india by the name of Redington , they sell intel stuff in india to the dealers.
Check it out REDINGTON (INDIA) LTD. , check out their sales offices for your city.
I contacted their Chandigarh centre and asked for the person dealing in vbi barebones.
He gave me numbers to some dealers where i could get my lappie from.
Try the same or even if you search your local comp market , i am sure atleast a few will get you a VBI, just search for it.

for pictures of s96j you can check out the links of pics here Asus s96j Yonah notebook Dual Core Gaming Laptops Asus s96j Dual Core 945gm Centrino Duo x1600
