i'd so love to have a 14 INCH screen and now again this price.. which wud be the perfect balanced stuff for a student?

Try and search more vbi options , quata sw1 is awesome if u dunt need a graphics card ie duo core nd all tht jazz in 48k.
The killer for me in s96j was the graphics card :D :rofl:
 
yes i da,mn need the x1600 a gig ram core 2 duo and dvd rw.
but screen shud be 14.1 :p.
W3j meets all my requirements... i need similar lappys priced a bit lower.
 
just a word of caution. Laptops at the end of the day are meant for portability(not exactly for high end gaming). If you are going to use it for carrying around then weight does matter. Its impossible to move around a 3kg laptop. It feels good for 1 week after that it starts to suck (lol don't believe me as renegade, threre is areason why portability costs and people go for that)

The reiview is american , since its a BTO(build to order) VBI , model specs can be different.

I am sure about the prices , lolz why cant ny1 believe this :p
p.s:trust me on the prices or enquire urself or wait 4 abt a week 4 my review wid price tag nd billz lolz :p

The finally paid up 60k for single slot ram nd mouse +headphones.
Awesome machine this is..
Played doom 3 , nfs underground with full settings without any problems.
Will write the review soon but i recommend this to anyone and everyone :d

Aye, looking forward to a detailed review mate. Going to call up Redington today and see how much it sells for in Mumbai and Pune (Avoid octroi) and see if the Z96 is available.
 
I contacted someone @ Redington Mumbai, say they have no such laptop in stock ...

Though I told them to check under Asus S96j, going to call 'em up again and ask for Intel S96j, that may help.

Imo Sirius, give us direct details to the fellow who sold the lappy to you @ Redington. I'll contact him and have him speak to the reps at Mumbai.

Redington is responsilbe for Intels product selling to dealers.

Ask in redington for a vbi reseller.

Z96j is not available in india s asus line of laptops so you wont get that here.

Im really not gettin time for posting a detailed review , but i played doom3 , nfs most wanted (black edition) , San andreas ... all onmax settings and they all ran without a glitch.

I m in love this beast :D

Can ya post the exact detailed specs of yer laptop? I got a hold of one dude who sells it in Mumbai, one of many might I add. He claims they only have the T2300 (Dual Core 1.66) Proc available, along with DDr - 533 Ram (not 667 - Might not be available anywhere), and 80GB 5,400 Sata HDD - Not 7,200.

Moreover, he wasn't sure on the screen size etc.

He'll be sending the performa invoice to me tommorow morning with exact details, so I'll know for sure tommorrow afternoon, but I'm curios as to what you picked up :p
