Asus X Series X52F-EX1408D @ 19K ....is it vfm??

Hello,

Needed an all purpose lappy for a friend, (browsing, msoffice, movies) around 20K.

zeroed in on Asus X Series X52F-EX1408D for 19K on flipkart.

Is this the best out there (in this range)? just needed a little reassurance before jumping in :D

Would like to add that, durability is something preferred, would not be upgrading anytime in the next decade!

so would be staying away from toshibas (as read online).

Help please!
 
Simply put the Asus with the Pentium P6200 is more powerful than the AMD E350. So I would suggest you go with the Asus. And HD glossy and HD glare mean one and the same - that the screen will reflect. Its not something you should be worried about, 90% of laptops sold in India are glossy and there is no much difference between the two screens as well I would say.

Go with the Asus, its significantly more capable :)
 
same query as t.c... asus seems to b the best deal out there. myself also going to buy it soon. few queries..
1. build quality

2.most imp wats the least price availbl on the laptp in market?

3.does asus provides backpack with therw lap?

exactly the price i bought this machine from market.

few suggestions : add up a xtra 2 gb ddr3 ram/ costs 1000 bucks.. 2 gb is seriously low

plz donot use the touchpad driver that comes with the lap , use the microsoft driver instead
 
The X52F comes home...SWEEET KEYBOARD!! :P

came with free dos....trying to load WINXP but its throwingup some error, need win7 i guess :(

PS: error was something like.....termintaing the setup to avoid damage to your computer...!!

Tries it with 2 different cds, same error... :(

it will not install win xp.. win xp will not suport these latest gen drivers/ for installing xp change the sata mode to ide/ for win 7 ahci is best

thanks for the tip mate....i was pulling my hair out trying to get things started..

i dint buy this from ebay, got it from local dealer for 19.5K.

windows7 SP1 installed ...up and running!!!

anyone interested to know anything specific about this laptop, please let me know.
 
Could you kindly do a mini review of the same...I am a student and need to get a lappy for college purpose...Portability & battery is important...Occassional gaming like old fifa titles...MS office...Photoshop image editing etc !! Budget is 25 k max.
