by HD if u mean movies audio then go with 5.1 instead of 2.1....

for songs its a perfect combo in that price range.....a lot of audiophiles on have the same combo
 
The soundcard with new drivers can downmix Dolby TrueHD and DTS-MA but thats the end of topic.

If you could have the card bitstream HD audio to HD Capable AVR receiver and there after to 5.1 or better 7.1 Speakers then its Audiophile territory. For all i know Fx5021 Is not audiophile grade speakers !!!

i dnt know much abt this ,, can u explain a little ,, AVR reciever , would it cost a lot ?? whats the purpose of it ?
 
av recievers cost very high and they are used in high end application, fx5051 is a multimedia speaker and cost aroound 8k and xonar dx is one of the best audio card for the price soundquality of fx5051 is pleasing it has good bass superb treble and decent mid and it is not a balanced one the main problem of fx5051 is the hissing and it is really irrittating if you have no problem about hissing it is really a good value for money

I don't think an AVR would fit your budget anyway. As for what it does, in layman's terms, it is a unit that accepts multiple audio/video inputs from several sources, processes it and sends it to the display (LCD) and speakers. Google it up if you need more info.

Could you tell us what exactly is your requirement with the intended purchase?
 
just wanted to experiance high resolution audio , mainly movies ...... @ around a budget of 15k sound card + speakers !!!!!!!!!!!
 
want high resolution audio you really want av reciever and good speakers onkyo is a good product but its price dont fit you, if your room is not so big and can't have so much money then asus xonardx+fx 5051 is only available now,but don't compare it with high end audio products. maybe altec will launch another surround speakers (6.1 or 7.1) this year. I am also waiting for that.remember the hissing of fx5051 is irritating.

sound quality of speaker purely depends on room and the funitures used, and carpet is a must for good sound.
