But it's not just a DAC, it's a sound card. Since it has microphone jack and amplifier as well.

It does not have dolby headphone but supports dolby surround through Dolby Home Theater V4 which apparently uses the same algorithms.

Yes you can. It has outputs for 5.1 surround but you need 5.1 speakers. This is just a sound card.
