CPU/Mobo Athlon 64 2800+ Problem

Hi ppl,

I just ran Cpu-Z on my pc for the first time and it is showing a core speed of 1004.5 Mhz. :( Though in BIOS i see it as 1800 Mhz.

If i am not mistaken this processor is suposed to be 1.8 Ghz. Please tell me what is wrong.

Also the Memory Clock speed is being shown as 125 Mhz, though it should be 266 Mhz. :huh:

Please tell me how to correct this.

just see the options in bios there should be an option to set the ram to automatic config... once thats set ur speed should be back to 1.8

I already have set the RAM to automatic. And yes cool and quite is on. Like i said, it shows 1800 Mhz in BIOS. But CPU-Z shows the processor Core speed as 1004 Mhz and the RAM frequency as 125 Mhz. though in BIOS what i see is

CPU - 1800 Mhz

Ram - 266 Mhz

Is there something wrong in the OS ???

Or i need to touch some other settings ??

r u using Vista wid an UPS connectd 2 ur usb?????? coz if u r thn jst change the power options frm BALANCED to HIGH PERFORMANCE and it will run @ the nrml clock speed....hpe ths hlps...:hap2:
 
If Cool n quiet is on, it will throttle the speed down in normal working conditions. But I dont think it should throttle the Ram speed.
 
can u try with cool n quiet off and see if it goes up to 1.8 if it goes then ur ok.. its just throtttling... thats normal....
u can then leave cnq on..
