CPU/Mobo Athlon II X4 + 880G vs C2D + G41 - Which one to choose?

i have two choices at hand but cannot decide which processor and motherboard to go with .can anyone help me out??
1)AMD athlon II x4 640 + ASUS M4A88T-M
2)INTEL core 2 duo + Intel original DG41wv

Whats your budget and needs? No point in going for C2D when you can get i3 combo for ~9k or so.

What do you plan to use your system for give details on usage and budget. Either ways a Athlon IIx4 640 should trash an EoL (End of Life), here is a teaser on that line -- AnandTech - Bench - CPU.

I throw my lot with the AMD rig. More upto date value for money and a better proposition to buy on the whole.

but before that, if you want encoding, light gaming on IGP wada wada, go for Athlon II
