ooh dint notice that,at this price point this is a killer card indeed! But how can someone start selling the cards before its official launch, might be true the launch is due in a few days and retailers would already be stocking these things. All this plays very nice for us, the rumoured price drops of the GTX 280 might be some indications of price wars just as there were during 1900/7900 days!

At that price point, I'll take that performance with smiley face. :)

Boy oh boy, I can't wait till we get 4870 and official benchies. I think RV7xx will live upto expectations afterall, if not blow it away through roof.
 
If the 4870 is 25%-30% better then this which it definitely should be and meets the expected price point then that should definitely be a killer...

The only thing to be seen is the availability cause that's what comes into play... And by the look of thing 4850 will be readily available on the launch date while 4870 will be a little short on supply... but hopefully that will be in stock in a months time...

Its time nVidia camp... Give us something... Anything :P

It was farcry which got every other card on it knees and then 6800 series by nVidia and X800 series by ATi was launched which i thought was a "good" upgrade from the last gen... At that time 9800Pro was the king of all... On the launch 6800GT was crunching twice as many frames in Farcry as 9800Pro did...

This time we have sort of a similar situation... 8800GT is the card to beat with almost the same margin :)

We’ve heard that Radeon HD 4850 will be positioned against G92 based 8800GT and that Radeon wins in this performance game.

Nvidia sells 8800GT at a US suggested etail etail price of $179 and we believe that ATI will match this price with RV770PRO or eventually sell it for $10 less.

Performance wise RV770XT aka Radeon HD 4850 should completely win against 8800GT and we also heard that it should win against non overclocked 9800GT cards but we still don’t know the overclocking limits of 9800GT cards, as there might end up faster than ATI’s offering.

8800GTX/9800GTX will win against Radeon 4850 but they are the other price category that is much closer or level with the price of Radeon 4870.

hi. Muzu_X2, i am one of the great fans of ATI. but this stupid company always let me down while comparing with GREEN company. i hate the real name of the Company.:@

You seem to be the great of the greatest fan of ATI. so i am sure that you will be having a monster AMD-ATI Rig. so please let me know the Config of ur Machine. i want to buy a card of ATI. so please tell me which card u r currently using. and also what is the performance of that card in latest games..

I am the new user to techenclave. i heard of u in techtree that's why i am here to support ATI. I am eagerly waiting for ur reply.
