My traded Sapphire HD5770 ...am facing heat issues ... I used to idle XFX GTS250 @ 37-40c now am running 5770 but .. but it fluctuates between 40c and 50c on idle and am running FIFA 11 at 80c :( while GTS 250 ran max at 67c :( .. my resolution is 1024x1280 ..settings are same ... any solution to this problem ?

There is something wrong with your cooler or check the fan speed ,my oced 4870 max temp while playing was like 69c,and 4800 run hotter then 5700 series,.

My MSIHD5770 at idle was arnd 53 but never went to 80c rather was at 63 when i game FIFA !! Ensure the fan is running at 35-45 % on idle and at 100% on full load !!

even @100% fan speed it goes upto 75-78 c easily and at times 82c :( ... GPU-Z max temps are #1=49c #2=75c #3=37c...anyone of you know where to get a sapphire card RMA ed in kolkata

woh man...i own a HD5770 and it never went par 45c....there is sure is something wrong with the heatsink....

First don't get nervous, 80c is pretty normal for GPU. Your temps are within the safe temperature threshold.

Reseat heatsink, you should clean off the old thermal paste and apply a fresh coat.

Though they test in an ambient temp of 22c and with furmark which is waaaay more stressful than FIFA the 5770 tops out at a toasty 76c

Doesn't removing the cooler of a GPU causes the warranty to get voided?

If that is okay then open up the cooler and apply fresh TIM to the gpu and memory modules

First clean off the previous TIM with Isopropyl alcohol.Can find it easily in a hardware store

well i did open it and saw the lumps of thermal paste on it :P .. and now i just need to order a good thermal paste
