just found out that the power connector on the card seems optional, took off the heatsink to slap on some as5 but when i connected everything back i forgot to plug back the power connector :fear2:

didnt notice actually and even played gta sa for about 45 mins before i noticed (thank god for for side panels :D)

looks like this isnt like the 9800 pros where you cant boot up if you dont plug in the power connector

I got it from www.newegg.com. as Mask mentioned , i had someone bring it over from the states.

Thats wierd... The X800XT is supposed to eat more power than the 9800 pro right? Maybe there's some throttling mechanism in the chip that scales down frequencies. Any temperature reduction cos of the arctic silver?
 
about 2 - 4° c or so .. from 44c to 40 and 75c to 70c

*but*
it rained today so its a bit cooler than usual
