Guys,
I am trying to overclock using ATI CCC
But whether i try manual/auto tune, the max GPU clock is getting capped at 675/1050

With RT, i was able to push 700/1110, but problem with this is, i cannot revert automatically to 2D clocks after setting them manually

what could be reason! How can i push it beyond 675

try AMD GPU Clock Tool v0.9.26.0 For HD 5870 download from Guru3D.com

clocks set will be used only while there is gpu load. otherwise gpu will stay at idle power state.

there is also version 0.9.8 in many places online...but that actually is 0.9.08 i think (released in 07)

Thanks madnav, tried this tool
doesn't help, able to pump up the clocks above 675, but doesn't come to 2D clocks at idle
also no option to set fan speed with this

One more thing i forgot to mention...

if you wish to set lower idle clocks (that the default idle clocks) then dont forget to set the voltage to the lowest possible..(it wont be done by default)

i'm able to run my reference HD4850 500/750 idle card at 325/650 idle with this tool. riva tuner OR ati tools (or something like that) was not able to go below 500/750 ...system would crash..

Also.. when you set clocks speeds which are out of the limits that ATi CCC allows... then ATi CCC overdrive page updates the limits to what you set with that tool.

Save your highest and lowest settings in catalyst profiles and then you can select appropriate profile as and when you need it :)
